“Better than ever - the only place to stay on the New England Highway!”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

This is the 3rd time my 2 young sons & I have stayed here and it has become our home away from home whenever I visit family on Tenterfield.

We only stay in the new 2 bedroom apartments (22-26) which are just amazing - 2 large bedrooms, wooden floor boards, clean, spacious, well appointed and very quiet (a rarity on the NE Highway). Peter, an amazing host, now offers filtered water in the rooms and there is a free coffee machine in the restaurant.

This place offers so much more than any other hotel/motel that I have stayed in on the NE Highway...so much so that I am now refusing to stop over in Tamworth to break up our trip as I would prefer to spend my hard earned money at The Golfers Inn. It is much better value with accommodation that can't be matched.

We chose the Golfer's Inn after reading reviews on Tripavisor and we weren't disappointed. The room (15) was large with a queen and a single bed and a huge wheelchair access bathroom. It was just what we needed after a ten hour drive. The room cost $85 per night which seems very reasonable this quality of accommodation. A large container of filtered water was provided in the room for our use.

The manager recommended the Tenterfield Golf Club for dinner. It served good quality "pub food".

I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone needing a good nights sleep while driving the New England Highway.

We almost didn't go in as the place just looks like a jumble of buildings and pretty messy. However we dis stay and had a good night in comfy accom. Check it out and also enjoy the free coffee and hot choc.

We stayed as a group and everyone said they had plenty of room & also extra single beds even though they hadn't booked a family room.
Watch out for the speed camera not far from the motel on the highway !
Queen bed was very comfortable. I don't think you can breakfast here - just check ? It didn't worry us though as we went out for breaky
Very close to the golf club if you are a golfer !

Room Tip: Rooms on the eastern side all have very spacious bathrooms . I actually thought we had the disable...

Take note of the Tripadvisor community - They have got it right again - I have stayed at many motels and hotels in my time and this has got to be the best

First impressions might be a it deceiving as the street frontage is the older style 2 bedroom wooden cottages - From the travellors photos these seem to have been renovated recently and look quite comfortable.

We stayed in a twin room in the Southern motel type units. - These newer brick units seem very new and are well appointed ( some are two bedroom).

Firstly, there is undercover parking at the door for 2 cars - Inside they are largest motel units I have seen - The bathroom is so large that the shower does not even need a curtain - Very modern with a good shower and plenty of hot water - The rooms are also large and well appointed - Baggage rack, Wardrobe, fridge, microwave, electric jug, toaster etc, flat screen TV, airconditioner and an ironing board and iron - There is a balcony deck at the rear - All appear near new and are very clean

The standard of finish and room size is way above most motel units and at $85/night very good value.

The management and staff are easy to get along with and took pride in showing me how to work the free coffee machine - There is even a self help breakfast bar in the restaurant

The "Golfers Inn" certaintly sets the standard in quality and value - Highly recommended

The owner has improved the accommodation by adding 5 low cost modern two bedroom units. Our room is fully accessible for the handicapped. It is comfortable, large, cool in the summer. (Constructed of block walls) There is great light, sola-tubes, and full kitchens. Convenient 24 hour coffee/tea access and free laundry machines! Free secure WiFi, TV in lounge and main bedroom. Close to town's shops and restaurants and optional hot breakfast upon request. There are also very reasonable motel rooms and cottages available. Right off the New England Highway without any road noise. Helpful, nice staff. Near a golf course but not joined to it.

Room Tip: Book the newer rooms .....very comfortable!
