“Comfort in a small town”
Reviewed December 18, 2012

The owner has improved the accommodation by adding 5 low cost modern two bedroom units. Our room is fully accessible for the handicapped. It is comfortable, large, cool in the summer. (Constructed of block walls) There is great light, sola-tubes, and full kitchens. Convenient 24 hour coffee/tea access and free laundry machines! Free secure WiFi, TV in lounge and main bedroom. Close to town's shops and restaurants and optional hot breakfast upon request. There are also very reasonable motel rooms and cottages available. Right off the New England Highway without any road noise. Helpful, nice staff. Near a golf course but not joined to it.

Room Tip: Book the newer rooms .....very comfortable!

No it’s not on a golf course but the rooms are labelled in golfing parlance eg bogey. It was ranked in Trip Advisor as #1, so I thought that I would try it out. The room was nicely appointed, timber used in ceiling, walls and floor and a comfy bed and a good shower. Good size room at 4m x 3.5m plus ensuite, a nice little balcony that overlooked the grass/lawn. It is quiet being off the main road. On the down side, although it is a budget option at ~ $80/night a bit of an effort to spruce up the outside ie mow the grass, pick up litter, roll the hose, fix the outdoor furniture, splash a coat of paint here and there would make all the difference and possibly entice those that currently are turned off by the external appearance.

I stayed their for a quick stop over on our way down to Sydney.
Rooms are large, clean and tidy. The traff includes a cereal breakfast.
We also had dinner in the club house restaurant, again very good quality and value.
Motorcycle friendly.

I would stay here again....I might take the golf clubs next time.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights at the end of November 2012. The double room was spacious, clean and well presented. Although only metres from the New England Highway, we did not notice traffic noise and there is a 50 KPH limit through the town, anyway. As there is a speed camera just down the road, most drivers seem to adhere to the limit. There are excellent eating places within a few short minutes drive. Ample filtered water is provided at the motel and there is a free fresh coffee machine. The staff are very friendly and informative. We will stay there again without doubt and would recommend it to anyone.

I have now been at this motel 4 times and each time it has gotten better. Mine host Peter Zannes is a true professional and knows how to look after his clients. His newer units are equel to any of the 5 star chains.

The facilities are excellent, being of high quality. He even provides 15 liters of pure water, which is very much apprecited and good for our health. A continental breakfast is included and a cappucino for the road.

It has always been a pleasure to stay with Peter.

Congratualtions Peter.

I was lucky enough to find this lovely motel via the local tourist accommodation website. I emailed leaving contact details and Peter returned a prompt phone call. We booked a certain room, but upon our arrival Peter wanted to show us the new 2 bedroom motel units and we upgraded on the spot.

On Peter's recommendation we enjoyed a meal at the nearby Golf Club but we could easily have self-catered (microwave, full cooker, sink, cutlery and crockery, full fridge etc). A lovely large living room was complemented by a nicely equipped kitchen, a separate queen bedroom and a disabled friendly bathroom that had one of those rain-shower shower heads. Bliss after seven hours in the car! The whole unit was also very clean - such a bonus. Hard floors in living areas, carpet in bedrooms, for those with allergy issues. We didn't even enter the second bedroom.

We'd planned on a return trip back through Tenterfield and a return stay at the Golfers Inn. Regrettably due to an unplanned illness we came straight home. However, we found the location very convenient for through travellers on the New England Hwy, and the lovely country hospitality is unparalleled. If you are a family, book this! Plenty of room for the kidlets and for their parents. If you are a couple, book this! Great bed and shower...
On the back of their business card it states: 'Australia's Best Kept Secret' I totally agree!

Room Tip: Just phone Peter and have a chat - he'll see you right!

Definitely recommend this with their massive rooms - we had a 2 bedroom unit with separate lounge, double room and 3 singles. Free cappuchinos is a nice touch and very clean and spacious!!!!!
