“Relaxing stop to break the trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2013

We recently stayed over at Cedar Lodge Cabins to break the road trip to Mudgee. The whole experience was certainly pleasant. We had the pleasure of enjoying a relaxing massage next to the fireplace, which was well needed after spending a day in the car. The cabins have some old school charm about them, and the hosts John and Carol were lovely and accommodating!
It is also conveniently located near the highway, so you won't get lost trying to find them.

Our family of 5 and a dog stayed here for a night over Easter and were delighted, just wished more than 1 night had been available! The cabins are small but have everything you need, and are on the nicer side of the Blue Mountains away from the hustle and bustle of Leura and Katoomba, but close to some great places to eat in Blackheath and great, dog friendly walking tracks at Mount Piddington.
The highlight of this property is the recreation room, it is massive! The kids loved it and as its a small property its not over run by lots of guests. We happily played pool in the evening, cooked dinner then watched a late night DVD in the recreation room, and even cooked breakfast there the next morning, so we never noticed that 5 of us had managed to squash into a room designed to sleep a family of 4.
We are looking forward to returning, there are not many places like this, where a family and their dog are made to feel as welcome as this!

Room Tip: Try and get a cabin with a verandah overlooking the garden.

The motel is alongside the Great Western Highway with car park and bbq between the cabins and the highway. On the side opposite there is a large but poorly maintained ground, and unfortunatly the terrace of very few cabins overlook this ground, most of them overlooking a neighbouring cabin, too closely for privacy.
Our one bedroom family cabin had kitchen facilities but was too small for the 3 of us (significantly smaller than most single motel rooms) and the beds were quite small and uncomfortable.
The owners were helpful and friendly, however with regard to the location, size and comfort, their cabin accommodation is overpriced.

We stayed at the Cedar Lodge Cabins in January of this year for 2 nights for our Wedding Anniversary. We were warmly welcomed by the owners John and Carol who are very friendly. We stayed in a cozy cabin which was well appointed with everything we needed from a huge King size bed, all kitchen items, air-conditioning and electric blankets. The games room is huge and amazing for children. It is an excellent base for all the activities of the Blue mountains. We travelled into Katoomba, Leura and Lithgow as well as had a horse riding adventure at the the Megalong Valley. All which were with in easy driving distance of the Cabins. We were booked in for a massage which we both had from the owner John and it was absolutely amazing. A must do if you are staying here.
We will definately be returning with our children next time and look forward to another visit and massage. Highly recommend for families or couples.

Stayed here over New Year with our two (adult) daughters, and loved it! The family cabin is small, but well equipped and comfortable, with air-conditioning and a dvd player. There is also a large recreation room with billiard table and games, jukebox, a couple of big-screen tvs and a huge library of videos and cassettes, and big comfy sofas and books, and tea and coffee-making facilities, John and Carol are wonderful hosts and the

The location is great - Mount Victoria is on the western edge of the Blue Mountains, and not as crowded as Katoomba/Leura. It has a range of attractive bushwalks, it's easy to get to Mt Tomah Botanical Gardens or visit lovely Mt Wilson, or you can drive back to Katoomba in about 15 minutes and fight the hordes of tourists there, or drive down to the Megalong Valley Tea Rooms for scones and home-made blackberry jam, or visit the local orchards, or head to Mt Vic Flicks for a movie.

We liked it so much we've booked one of the spa cabins for an autumn visit - something to look forward to!

Room Tip: The top cabin is quite close to the Great Western Highway (although we were did not find it terribly...

We stayed in Cabin 8 here in late October and enjoyed a lovely view of bushland, colorful birds floating in and out of the yard and a quiet evening away form the touristy towns of the Blue Mountains. The Owners were so helpful and friendly, we cannot thank them enough. The cabin is cozy and had kitchen facilities and a hot tub. Rustic but comfortable and clean. We were so happy to get away from the throngs and say in this enchanting little getaway.

Room Tip: Cabin 8 or 0 for view and privacy

We booked the two bedroom family cabin from the website. We had a sense that we would be looking out over Australian bushland with grassed areas. However, we were about 40 metres from the Great Western Highway, with a large dumpster between us and the road. The two bedroom family room was significantly smaller than most single motel rooms and the wall between the rooms did not go to the ceiling. It was more like one room with a partition. Door frames etc were made of untreated pine, which indicates that not a lot of care has been taken in the upkeep of these quite old cabins. In fairness, two of the rooms (8 and 9 I think) did overlook bushland- but most of them did not. Owners were perfectly nice, but this was not the place for a relaxing getaway for us.
