Historic but clean and new, with all the modern conveniences like bed warmers, flat screen, wifi and bluetooth... spacious living area, all new appliances in the lovely kitchen, bedroom with the best pillows, elegant and pristine bathroom, gorgeous art, crown molding, fireplaces, and wrought iron work everywhere... and a back porch to enjoy the yard and surrounding park! Bank House Mount Victoria is in the perfect central location between all the Blue Mountain attractions (Hikes like Pulpit Rock, Katoomba, Jenolean, Mt. Tomah Botanical Gardens) and train station! The owners are the nicest people ever... Wish we could stay for a month!!! Thanks Jeff and Deb!!! You and your property have exceeded our expectations and raised the bar!
My wife and I stayed at the Bank House just before New Year. This is a lovingly-restored property with a genuine but comfortable period styling. The property is two storeys, with large sitting and dining rooms downstairs. There is a modern kitchen and a well-appointed modern bathroom. Upstairs the two bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. There are working fireplaces both upstairs and down, but we were there in the height of summer, so no chance to use them unfortunately. There are many nice touches throughout the rooms, and the attention to detail is evident everywhere.
The host was welcoming and friendly, with a great knowledge of the area.
This would be a perfect place to use as a jumping-off point to explore the many mountain walking tracks nearby, or venture further afield to the west. Mount Victoria is quieter than most of the other Blue Mountains towns, so it's a great alternative if you want to avoid the tourists. The Bank House is a five minute walk from Mt Victoria Station, and also from the renowned Mt Vic Flicks cinema.
Our stay at the Bank House was enjoyable and relaxing. We regretted not having more time to make use of the many facilities of the residence, such as a beautiful attached bath house (which can be reserved for a fee) and a quiet garden area with barbecue. We will definitely visit again.
Note: The stairs to the bedrooms are quite steep, so might be difficult for elderly or disabled people.
