“Avoid this place at all cost”

Ho's palace is the only Chinese restaurant in Blackheath. It has been there sine the year dot. No competition means no need to perform. MSG prevails here-My wife had a reaction to the food and broke out in a terrible rash. The empty table in the restaurant are testimony to the very poor quality of the food

“REVOLTING - starvation would be a better choice”
Reviewed December 14, 2010

The fact that only one other table was occupied should have told us not to proceed. We ordered an entree to share, combination of various starters, all overcooked and soaked in oil - I mean beyond saturation point. The main course was a Combination (meats and sea food) with garlic. It was truely revolting, SWIMMING in oil and garlic - not sauteed, just chunks straight from the jar. The fried rice was overcooked and tasteless. A Chinese cook who can't even cook rice should be banished from every kitchen on the planet. The lemon lime and bitters arrived looking like lemonade with lime cordial and no bitters. Tasting confirmed the lack of Angostura bitters. When we mentioned this to the non Chinese waitress she argued with us! "I assure you it is in fact a lemon lime and bitters" - her exact words, AND she continued to argue and defend it. Blind Freddy could SEE it was not right and tasting confirmed it. DON'T GO to HO's PALACE.
