“Wedding Anniversary Dinner”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

We were first time diners celebrating our wedding anniversary. We had the best fine dining experience in a restaurant in the Sydney basin. Meals came out hot...with delicious flavours ...we had lambs brains, fish curry, barramundi and the citrus lime tart...
I know this is one of the best fine dines in the Blue Mountains but the attention to detail is extraordinary....Mary-Jane and Corinne.......
Keep up the good work .....
We will be back...

“Hearty mountains fine dining”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

We enjoyed an Autumn lunch at Ashcrofts today and were impressed with the crisp clean shop front and the genuinely friendly and professional service. Interestingly, the food was much heavier than we anticipated or perhaps are currently used to. Virtually every dish was sauced and the vegetable sides, although tasty and plentiful, were quite oily. Although we are robust eaters when required, we couldn't make the dessert menu. We had Egyptian spiced quail, crusted lamb brains, the seafood entre plate, an open pie of lobster and scallops, NZ rabbit and a rare beef loin with Gorgonzola Yorkshire pudding, all of which were tasty and autumnal. The best indicator of the overall feel was the balsamic treacle and olive oil with the house made rolls; delicious and sweet, but heavy and a little oily. If staying in Blackheath or the Blue Mountains, well worth lunch or dinner. Wine list is reasonably priced.

“Delightful”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

Food and service were lovely. Had a hiccup as they didn't have our booking. Owner apologised and was lovely but we only had a limited time to eat which was a shame so no time for dessert or coffee but what we did have was fabulous!

“Nice but nothing special.”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

My husband and I heard many nice things about this place but we felt let down. The atmosphere was very loud and a bit crowded. The food was nice but nothing I would go back for. We had the seafood entree to share and I don't think the 3 dishes went well together. I was expecting better food for the price, although the servings were very generous.

On a better note, our waiter was lovely and he looked after us very well.
