“Beautiful setting”
Reviewed March 4, 2012

We stayed 3 nights in a 2 bedroom cabin. We were the only people at the lodge for the first 2 nights which made it quite a peaceful experience. The first morning we woke up to low lying fog in the surrounding trees, couldn't see anything else. It was stunning. The cabin was comfortable for 2 people. The fire was a bit tricky to get going on our final night. It had been raining steadily which may have had something to do with it.
As we were the only people staying, the reception was only available from 8.30am to 4pm and the restaurant was closed for dinner. This was understandable but did require a bit of organisation especially if you are checking out early morning as we were.
I would definately recommend this lodge. The mid-week special is great value and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Jemby-Rinjah was a great place for families to gather. It was good for all ages, from toddlers to the elderly. The rooms and halls have a nice rustic-eco feel.

We recently visited for one of the Friday night sirloin and garlic prawn dinners.

The steak was served with the prawns (4), mash, peas and hollandaise.

Not glam but not a bad feed for $16.00.

We stayed here ten years ago or so in the deluxe cabin (with the spa) and went back for a short break. In that time, it seems the decor has not changed or been updated in the cabin and it is looking a bit dated. There was a problem with filling the spa (no hot water) which as it turns out was our fault for not reading the instructions properly. However when we contacted the Manager, he said there was nothing he could do and "you'll have to live with it". Had he have sent someone to the cabin at the time the problem could have been identified immediately and a hot spa could have been enjoyed on the first night. As it turns out when someone came the following day and pointed out the correct use for the spa, apart from feeling somewhat embarrassed, we were annoyed that such simple advice was not offered verbally by the Manager the night before. Also, this property sits adjacent to the Blue Mountains National Park and promotes itself as an eco lodge yet apparently dogs reside there with the Managers, which is a bit hard to understand. Finally, on checkout we were given a welcome folder that included advice on meals/the restaurant and other lodge facilities - not much use on the way out! Somehow Jemby Rinjah has lost its shine and the plot.

Room Tip: The deluxe cabin has the spa, but only large enough for one person.

We regularly hold workshops at Jemby Rinjah and find it an excellent location. No detail in planning is overlooked. We feel like special and privileged clients. The staff is wonderful especially the reception staff and the restaurant staff. There is never a problem catering for special dietary requirements and the food is always healthy and delicious. Our attendees regularly feed back to us that they love the peaceful location and it is convenient for people coming from both Sydney and country NSW. The walk to Evan's Lookout is wonderful. The conference facilities are great - cosy in winter and cool but sunny in summer. If you are looking for somewhere for a small conference, a workshop or a team building trip, you can't go past Jemby Rinjah.

Room Tip: We book the lodges. Although you can fit four in a room, we only book two adults in a room to give p...

We stayed at Jemby on a trip to the Blue Mountains with some friends from the UK. The staff were very accommodating and let us check in late so we could spend the day on the tourist trail.

The accommodation itself is simple but adequate. The eco toilet was 'interesting'! The chalet wasn't super clean with sticky floors and tables. Its also quite a way out of Blackeheath so if you want to eat out and have a few drinks you need to book a taxi. It is however ideally located for the Grand Canyon walk which we did from the chalet which was beautiful.

All in all a nice place to stay and a unique experience staying in the bush in an eco cabin.
