“Fine Dining with BYO”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

It is not often that fine dining around Sydney can be combined with BYO with reasonable corkage ($4 pp) however Escarpment is such a place.

All the other usual fine dining qualities were there; elegant, fresh space with linen tablecloths, excellent service and very tasty, attractively presented food.

We found our entrees of asparagus soup for me and pastry tartlet for her to be excellent whilst our mains of mussels for me and mushroom braise for her were also very tasty. Our only complaint was that the mains are not very filling and we would have still have been quite hungry if it was not for the delicious fries and sourdough roll.

PS. Would also recommend to management that they accept Amex even if it meant imposing a surcharge - at least customers have the option.

“Great dinning experience”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

Located on the Great Western Highway Escarpment is a delicious treat in dinning. Well priced and cleverly crafted food make this restaurant a must visit when in Blackheath. It is also BYO

“A great food escarp!”
Reviewed August 31, 2013 via mobile

Went to the Escarpment for the first time on Father's day. Had a two course meal for $33 which was great value as the food was excellent. Staff were really friendly and looked after us with quick and efficient service. Would highly recommend.

“Great meal,fabulous service !”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

This is a definite 'must stop and eat at place' if your are in Blackheath or passing on the highway. The great decor is matched by the equally fabulous food and service by the understanding and accommodating staff.
My shortcrust pastry tartlet with marinated artichokes was a taste explosion.Perfectly cooked and full of flavours of Gruyere cheese and caramelized onions and my partners choice of the Mussels in a spicy tomato and chorizo broth was equally delicious. The main course of eye fillet of beef was better than I've had anywhere and my partner's Tagine of goat shoulder was good also.
Great prices,BYO and highly recommended!

“Decent restaurant”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

Overall I was happy with my meal here. Main course was great - chunk of beef with a nice creamy sauce. The chef added greens and chips as a compliment which was welcome. Starter was a pastry tart which if I'm honest was a disappointment. Pastry felt soggy, as if it had been heated up in the microwave. Otherwise the staff were nice if a bit reserved.
