We got this recommendation from our host at Glenella Guest House. From the Blackheath community pool, follow Popes Glen Walk through the preserve (morning walk will be rewarded with prime bird watching) to Pulpit Rock Walk and Govett's Leap. We saw few people on the trail, and very few at Govett's Leap itself. And the views are just as nice as Three Sisters. We finished the nearly 9km walk on Breaside Walk headed back to town. Well kept secret in the Blue Mtns!

Everyone seems to go to the Blue Mountains to see the Three Sisters and Scenic World - drive along the cliff drive. But the walks and views in and around Govetts Leap were fabulous. Also, the visitor's center on the left as you drive to Govetts Leap has a great little museum in it. It doesn't have the bells and whistles and Katoomba has, but that made it better, we think.

This is a gorgeous little picnic spot. A spectacular view and definitely worth visiting on your way through the mountains.

Don't miss it. You won't see a better view in the Blue Mountains. Shame there is no cafe there however go back into town and stop at one of the cafes there.

A short drive off the highway you are met by a superb view down the giant valley full of native trees. It is worth taking any of the short or long walks through a part of one of the oldest countries in the world. A must see on any Blue Mountains visit.
