That's the environment that Kendra and Fernando are trying (and succeeding) in building in Yelapa. We've stayed in 4 different and unique spaces during our trips to Yelapa and there's was the easiest to just relax in. Most of the homes in Yelapa are beautiful, and MiraMar is no different, but Kendra and Fernando, having exerience living in the US, understand that management is key to a successful rental. The kitchen is stocked with the common things you would think to look for in an American kitchen (cutting board, wine opener, matches, candles, etc). Kendra is amazing at talking to you and suggesting the types of excursions that might make your trip the most enjoyable, without wasting your time and money on the ones that might not suit your group.

Fernando's cooking is phenomenal, and his restaurant "suffers" from the same excellent service. The only bad thing is that we ate at his restaurant the first night, and so were comparing every other fare to his--consistently in his favor. Fortuantley this problem with easily solved--we just ate different things at his restaurant and kept coming back.

What a beautiful house and life they've built here at Manta Ray and Yelapa. The house was amazing but it was a distant second to how amazing Kendra and Fernando husband were. Everyone on the cove is friendly but they take it to a new level. The invited us and our young daughters (3 and 6) to bake cookies on X-mas--what an an amazing memory and it was the best "excursion" we had on our trip. I can't wait to return this year and see the "addition" that Kendra was working on last December!

It was an honor being touched with such kindness, and whether I'm able to find availalbility with them or not, I've found my go to people for trips, food, and advice on soaking away the time with my family in Yelapa.

Room Tip: The one closest to the restuarant! :)

Our family stayed 10 days at Mira Mar last August and really enjoyed it. The accomodations are spacious and clean and the view of the bay is awesome. Fernando was a wonderful host and was always available if we needed anything. One night he was nice enough to come over and make ceviche for us (which was really tasty). Overall I recommend the destination and really recomment Mira Mar.

Thanks Fernando!

I found MiraMar on Trip Advisor. Kendra was very helpful with tips prior to our arrival. Fernando dropped by several times to make sure that we had everything we needed. We stayed in Casa Palmita and loved it. You have views of the ocean from every room. We slept with the doors and windows open every night - I love falling asleep to the sound of the waves and my daughter enjoyed napping in the hammock. There is a great little market right down the street. We had the most delicious mangos and grapefruit that I have ever had. And, we tried and liked starfruit. The beach is a close walk from MiraMar. We walked to the waterfall in town and the one that is further away (3 hour round trip walk). It was a good thing that Fernando came by as we were leaving and gave us directions to the waterfall.... We really enjoyed our dinner at Tacos y Mas and we ate lunch twice at Angelina's Garden - really good! Yelapa is a perfect place to get away from everything and relax. MiraMar is the perfect location and you can't ask for better hosts. Thank you, Kendra and Fernando. Kate & Chloe

WE felt completely safe in this very gentle environment and Fernando picked us up from P/V airport. How wonderful to see his friendly face waiting there for us.We spent seventeen glorious days in Yelapa, our second visit. We stayed at another of Miramar Yelapa,s condos, Casa Manta Ray. Built on a rocky bluff between the two beaches of Yelapa (along with Casa Palmita) it is the best spot in the whole village. You can just sit on the balcony and watch the world of Yelapa go by, Watch the rays in the rocks below or walk down the steps to go swimming. We had visited two years ago and had decided we must come back and already making plans for our next visit. Fernando and Kendra are wonderful hosts doing everything they can to make our stay just perfect. We had dinner at their house one night and they came to share dinner with us on another occasion. WE were so thrilled to meet Kendra as she was working away last time. Fernando was there everyday to make sure we had everything we needed. Our most memorable day was the last Friday. We had already been out fishing with Fernando but this day was so special. The ocean was perfect, and not only did we catch fish but were accompanied by two humpback Whales(they found and followed us) then we were surrounded by hundreds of dolphins. Then to top all of this we went into Chimo for a wonderful Abalone Ceviche and lobster lunch, what a glorious day. We thank you Kendra and Fernando and hope to see you soon.

When we booked Casa Manta Ray for 4 days we had hopes that the place would be almost as nice as it was presented to be in their ads.So often you end up feeling decieved by misleading promo material.Rarely,if ever, do you get the feeling that the experience promised is exceeded by the experience received. But here it is.What a perfect setting.Clean, spacious, huge open porch right over the water.Close to everything and yet quite private. Most of all,the warmth and hospitality shown by Kendra and Fernando put us at ease from the start.Kendra walked us thru every step of the reservation process and answered all questions before we got there.Even the ones we didn't think to ask but should have.Fernando met us at the pier and helped with our bags and in that short walk to the Casa we seemed to leave behind everything we wanted to escape from for a while. Some beer in the fridge and a quick walk around town and soon you realize,"We should have booked for a longer stay."Great suggestions for places to hike to and restaurants to visit from Kendra>Fernando's place El Cerrito is one of the many great places to eat.Tacos al Pastor at Tacos y Mas-unbelievable.
While we were in Yelapa one of the most common things we heard was,"See you next year."After a few days you know why. Can't wait to get back to Casa Manta Ray and bring some friends to rent the other Casa.

Room Tip: For 2 people choose Casa Manta Ray.For more, choose the upper Casa.

My family and I planned a trip to Yelapa and found MiraMar through TripAdviser. We were not disappointed. Kendra sent us useful information about transportation, dining and other activites in town. She was ready to arrange a taxi and boat for us from the airport - which we did not use because we were spending a few days in Vallarta prior to Yelapa - but this shows how organized and hospitable she is to her guests.

Her husband, Fernando, greeted us with tuna ceviche on the evening of our arrival. He took us fishing and snorkeling the next day. We were with my 11 year-old nephew, and Fernando made us feel very confortable and safe in his boat. We were lucky enough to see whales and even a dolphin right beside the boat! While we went snorkeling, he prepared a guacamole which we ate on this private beach.

We stayed in Casa Palmita, which offered 2 comfortable rooms (we slept 4 adults and 2 kids). It is good to know that there is a baby folding bed available, so you don't need to bring your own (better to travel light, although you can arrange people to help you with your luggage when you get on/off the boat). The second bedroom has a bunkbed, although we were a little nervous about using the top bed because the ladder wasn't too stable and we couldn't trust the security railing. But the bottom bed was confortable, so was the double bed right beside.

The beach by the house is not ideal for swimming as it's sort of the port for small boats, but the view is absolutely charming. We would cross the river to go to the larger beach and swim there. The village is charming, the people friendly, and it's nice to walk around. We did enjoy the small "private" beach by the house, playing beach tennis. In the late afternoon, local boys came to play soccer, which was nice because you feel the community spirit.

Fernando also owns a restaurant with his family, just above the houses. We enjoyed cooking our own meals from the room's kitchen, but I have to say that the restaurant's food was really good and we couldn't resist eating there our last evening. They had a small band on one evening, which was nice. The rest of my family stayed in to go to bed early and didn't complain that it was making too much noise.

It was a very pleasant stay, and I felt 3 days was not enough. I will definitely go back!

Room Tip: All rooms seem comfortable, but you should ask Kendra and Fernando what the best option is if you ar...

We just spent a week in the Casa Manta Ray. As seasoned travelers we were sceptical of any place we had not stayed in before. We sent LOTS of emails to Kendra about the conditions, towels, pots, water, toilets, showers, sun, bugs...etc..etc. We have learned to ask a lot of questions..."do you supply toilet paper"...experiecne drives these intimate inquiries. In short, they not only answered all of our questions but surprised us with the level of service and quality of provisioning that was done. The deck gets sun most of the day ...however you are always able to go inside and wall off the outside. Views are stunning 24hours a day. You are right in the middle of the village but feel you are secluded and protected in your perch overlooking the bay. We will definitely stay there again...and Kendra's and Fernando's service was OUTSTANDING ..and the difference that made this a wonderful stay.
