“tuna fishing with jay- corbetena”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

fishing being one of my main activites when in Yelapa i would highly recommend Jay. Over the last several years i have had the oppotunity to fish with a number of guides and guess what they are all great they are knowledgeable and you will catch fish. this year 2013 i had the opportunity to fish with Jay for the first time and trip one resulted in 4 large mahimahi with 2 lost. and the second trip 3 large tuna landed over 150 pounds each and one lost. Jay works hard to get fish in the boat speaks excellent english. On my future trips to Yelapa Jay will be my go to guy for fishing though i still would reccomend any of the other guides as well. Just go to Domingos on the beach and ask for Jay the waiters at Domingos are great they'll be glad to help the food and drinks there are great as well. Hope to see you next yr. Jay thx for the time on the water. Vic

“Fun day!”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

Great and beautiful day trip! The only dislilke was that it was crowded. But we had a wonderful time on the boat and especially once in Yelapa.

“Great day of fishing.”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

Had a great day of fishing with Jay and his dad Gerardo. He has a great boat, speaks perfect english and great gear. He works very hard to get you those fish. We ended up with 1 sailfish, 2 striped marlin and 5 Mahi-Mahi. If it wasn't for my poor hook setting we would have had lots more.

“Yelapa, Mexico”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

The Catamaran ride was great, the crew good but unless you are young and able, getting off the catamaran onto a dingy with a motor is not fun. Yelapa is only accessible by boat, but tour did not say no dock, must transfer to a dinghy, get out of the dinghy wading knee deep in water that was quite rough to shore. Guess what...the reverse was harder to get out of that dinghy to the Catamaran steps.

I did not go on the mountain hike to the waterfalls. Big mistake. I thought to relax by sitting on platic chair beside one of the tables overlooking the beach. First the restrooms are rustic, to be kind, wash your hands from dirty water in outside container set on a table. Then vendors who earn their money from selling to tourists beads etc were very persistent. I did buy a necklace after about 6 or 7 vendors bugged me no end. Then they all gathered like vultures trying to sell me their items. As I did not bring hardly any cash, it was great to get out to wade in the water and climb out of the dinghy onto the catamaran and leave Yelapa.

“Beautiful beach and charming village”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

An excursion through Vallarta Adventures to Yelapa & Majahuitas. Our crew, lead by David, were colorful and entertaining. Their running commentary, filled with great music and the occasional dance routine made the day a delight. Snorking in Majahuitas was great. Major attraction was Yelapa where we hiked to a lovely waterfall, meeting some local artisans along the way. Then a stroll through the quiet village with simple huts and homes and a gorgeous beach where we enjoyed time to relax and have some cervezas. Quiet and remote, Yelapa was a tonic to anyone seeking some relaxation. Hats off to the crew from Vallarta Adventures.
