Lets starts at the top: Susan, the owner, runs a great kitchen. Her management and her staff respond well to meet the diner's needs. Now ...
The service is fantastic. Susan is great and can, when not too busy, provide one with the inside scoop on Yelapa. Ken, the host-waiter-do everything but cook guy, is another great resource. Ask Ken a question and you'll get many relevant answers, none boring and many answering the next question you had.
The menu offers a variety of flavors that can change with a nice surprise. One day you'll eat melt in your mouth brownies (the butter?), the next day muffins, the next day a hollandaise sauce to die for is on your eggs florentine. The vegie sandwich with goat cheese, avacado, tomato, lettuce, a not over the type spread of mayo and mustard, served on toasted bread is my favorite.
This is not to say that Bahia doesn't do meat well, for they do. The burrito was my favorite way to deliver the meat to my gaping mouth along with all the extras. Wash it down with a perfectly made limonada or at breakfast, the fresh squeezed orange juice. I could go on about the food, but suffice it to say, Yelapa could only be paradise if it has good food and Cafe Bahia is there to assure you. Bottom line, you get food that is made from scratch from someone who loves to cook.
Cafe Bahia is not open for dinner but is open through late afternoon. Make sure to catch their happy hour and drink specials, which usually run from 3-6 PM.
