The Cafe Bahia is located right at the pier in Yelapa and is open from 7AM to 7PM. Not sure what the Thursday hours are, but it was closed at 8AM when we were leaving. Anyway, this is a fabulous place to stop for breakfast or for a break after walking up and down the hills around Yelapa. The activity at the pier, the bay view, and the friendly service are a fantastic backdrop to the the meal.

The daily omelet is without doubt the best omelet I've had. Anywhere! No matter what the filling, it is cooked to perfection and tastes fabulous. Add the homemade bread, fresh OJ, jams, the pan-fried potatoes, and a side of perfectly cooked bacon and you are in heaven. If only I could be there all the time. Dream, dream, dream...

What a nice spot. The staff is terrific... it really is the heart of the town. Ken knows everybody and everything, and the service is friendly; if you talk with a staffer one day, they'll remember you and ask about your stay when you see them next. Nice place indeed.

Yelapa is a small coastal fishing village one hour away from Puerto Vallarta (by boat). No roads, electric is recent but who'd have expected to find such a jewel of a restaurant there! Susan, the owner and chef is a petite dynamo who has studied in NYC and Paris and boy, does it show! We were there (again) yesterday for "Thai Tuesday" and it was FABULOUS. As refined as the best NYC Thai place. The decor is charming, a la francaise, small checkered tablecloths, all seating is outdoors in front of the sea. I don't normally write reviews but this place is SPECIAL. Prices are reasonable by American standards. Dinner (entree, main dish, dessert plus margarita) will be about $25... and worth every dime!

We have been coming to Yelapa for a couple years now and Cafe Bahia is definitely one of our regular stops for breakfast, lunch or late afternoon snacks. The owner is a French trained chef who owns a catering business in Cape Cod and winters in Yelapa where she runs Cafe Bahia. She and her staff offer remarkable service and are lovely advocates for the town. Feel free to ask them anything you need to know about water taxis, where to stay, or what there is to do in town. Cafe Bahia makes the best eggs Benny we've ever had and they have a signature taco salad and medialuna salad that we always order. All the ingredients are local and fresh, as the restaurant gets first pick of the day's produce when it comes in on the boat from PV. They also bake delicious bread, macaroons and brownies that are the perfect treat for your water taxi ride back to PV. Cafe Bahia is aces! Aces!

Friendly staff, fresh, carefully prepared food using quality ingredients. Loved the spritzers, black bean soup and the Yelapa salad!
