We have been to Yelapa several times and always include Cafe Bahia for breakfast, brunch or lunch (however, this year they are now open until 7pm). Located on the waterfront next to the village pier, where the water taxis come and go, the cafe's small informal outside seating area sits on sand under umbrellas. The food is always fresh and tasty, with some of the vegetables grown on site. They have great freshly squeezed lemonade and orange juice. Daily specials are always posted on the chalk board outside the kitchen. The lively owner/chef is often seen walking around in her apron interacting with guests and the many regulars who frequent the place.
Prices are very reasonable and the service is excellent. You can also order food to go (tip: if you're going on a hike or on your way home and have a long wait at the Puerto Vallarta airport, or want to take something on the plane, their sandwiches and cookies are delicious!).
