£8.00 pounds to park...............they have to realise that on the days when its not really hot & sunny the place is used by people wanting to have a walk. If you do this and stay for a couple of hours the parking price is ridiculous.

First visit here was to watch son-in-law kite-surfing. What a great beach !
Easily accessible , benches along the "prom" and just miles and miles of golden sand !!
The tide does go out quite a way so maybe check tide times . There is a café but took a picnic but it seemed very busy ! But then it was a lovely day.

West Wittering has a massive all grass car park and only rarely gets full. It stretches along the shore line, so you're never far from the beach.

The beach is shingles leading down onto firm clean sand. The water is clear and clean. The are is patrolled.

Swimming is safe often with large pools when the tide is out (but these change seasonally). It's great to come up off the beach to picnic or BBQ, so you can eat without sand in your food! There are stand pipes at regular spacing all along the length of the car park, convenient to rinse off the sand and for filling the kettle (the water is fully potable). (Note that the taps are insulation bound and unavailable in mid-winter.)

Note that is gets a little expensive in high season before 3pm. All day can cost from £1 weekdays off season to £8 at weekends in peak season (There are 3 seasons, High season May to Sep, Mid season Apr and Oct, Low season Nov - Mar). They have a web site with all the information at http://www.westwitteringbeach.co.uk/parking.html .

There's a small restaurant, ice cream sales and public toilet facilities.

This is a fantastic beach to play on, tons of room and sooooooo clean. Great cafe and shop for emergency bucket and spade purchase. Shame parking is so expensive but its a conservation area so needs to be preservered. We will be back.

Shame they charge so much for the parking, and it doesn't matter if you are there for a day or an hour it's the same fee. It is a beautiful beach though, and on a rare hot day it is one of the best places to be.
