We stayed at the Halfway Bridge for New Years Eve and had a fantastic stay. We had a deluxe room, which was nicely decorated, very clean and cozy. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and good sized portions. We also ate in the pub in the evening and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. The thing that made the stay so good however was the staff, Martin in particular who was attentive and friendly throughout our stay, making everyone feel like a local. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

We have been coming here for almost 5 years for evenings out/dinners. we have stayed here too for the last 3 years! The pub itself has a great cosy and warm atmosphere with its amazing fire and rustic surroundings. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. We love the breakfast! We feel the evening menu could be a little more varied and maybe a few more gastro pub type meals like steak & ale pie etc, it's lovely food but after one night eating there you might want to go out the other night. We tried a fantastic Indian this time in Petworth town centre called Meghdooths and it was absolutely fantastic and worth a visit, a lovely family run Indian!
The rooms are out the back in the old barns, they are all beautiful however maybe avoid room 5 in the winter as it was a little drafty with the big windows and the front door had a little draft too, they moved us with no problem once we said about it so they were very accommodating.
We love room 3 which we've stayed in twice now and also room 2 was lovely too! You get tea/coffee/biscuits in the rooms and they all feel like a home from home!
A lovely place to stay

The rooms are great. Peaceful, well appointed. The food is spot on. Jack is a great bloke and everyone only too happy to help. I've stayed here several times over the last few months and it's now my go to pla e when in the area. Can't recommend it enough.

Was passing by on the 272 when we saw this place just after Petworth and stopped for a bite of lunch. Lovely day so we ate in the garden. Had the steak open sandwich and house burger. Both excellent and well presented. Topped off with the mango and passionfruit meringue. Again excellent. Well worth the money and will stop again when next in the area.
