Lovely little local pub it's not cheap but the food is definitely worth it. Biggest and best steaks in Sussex cooked to perfection!

Set off for a cycle ride late and was passing the pub at lunchtime rather than already being home, so we popped in. Staff were very good at fitting us in, despite being virtually fully booked. The food was very good, although the portions were a bit large considering we had to get back on the bikes afterwards.

Been here a number of times over the years, and never disappointed.

Will will on occasion share your table with others (once met Jimmy Hill there).

We went there on a Sunday prior to visiting Petwoth House. We booked a table for three.

Starts off well as they keep Youngs Bitter.

We had Rib of beef (rare), pheastant breasts in marsala source with wild mushrooms, and beef and ale pie. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their menu. The deserts went down just as well, apple, cinnemon & ginger crumble yummy, as were th ice creams.

This good pub food, lots of variety without being nouvelle cuisine.

Staff are very friendly too.
