I really would like to give it 5 and I do believe writing a review quickly after a return to give the most accurate opionions
First positives:

Unique B&B in the UK if not the world
Romantic and lovely accommodation in the refurbed Pulman carriages (my wife said it made her feel like a movies star from the 30's)
Lovely and clean (ignore negative comments re cobwebs, too much 4 in a bed!!)
Beds, pillows and furnishing immaculate and comfortable.
Good TV and WiFi actually worked, you would be amazed where it doesnt!
Breakfast, tasty unhurried (that
does NOT mean slow) and even a couple of veggie choices.
Lovely rural setting in the heart of the South downs national park.
Breakfast cook/receptionist and waitress lovely.

Negatives (this is picky)

Owner greeted us but did not offer to take luggage ( small overnight bags to carriage I would normally assume this in a B&B costing £200 per night). He seemed a bit distracted and did not recognize us as former guests. Up the customer welcome "ante".
Some carriages need some EXTERNAL Tlc and vegetation clearing, although I would accept this is the end of the summer in the UK.

Overall, been before and would stay again and recommend. Come on Goodmund you can get the AA's funkiest hotel award (currently "2nd and bookings.com 10!!)

Room Tip: Go for the Deluxe Pullman eg. "Montana"

On 9th October we stayed in the ground floor of the Station House – which we found to be spacious and well equipped with everything we needed – while our friends stayed in the King Pullman carriage – which, being real bygone railway enthusiasts, they really loved. Although inevitably more compact than the larger bedroom and en suite of the Station House, the Pullman was similarly comfortable and well equipped and, of course, contained plenty of nostalgic/railway related fixtures, fittings and soft furnishings

On arrival at The Old Railway Station, we all received a warm welcome from the owner and the offer of complimentary tea or coffee plus some tasty homemade shortbread – which we consumed while we sat in part of the grand old station building that contains a comfortable lounge area for guests’ use during the day and evenings and, (at the other end of the large room), the tables and chairs where guests are served what we subsequently found to be a generous and tasty breakfast selection in the morning.

In the evening we dined at nearby Badgers pub/restaurant (please see our separate Tripadvisor review relating to that) before making the short walk back under a beautifully clear and starry sky to enjoy what transpired to be a comfortable night’s sleep.

Sadly we only booked one night at this charming and nostalgic B&B as their Internet advertising failed to mention that they now offer free Wi-Fi access to their guests. However, the owners welcomed our suggestion to add this increasingly popular facility to their future advertising and, of course, in the meantime anyone reading this review will now know about it via Tripadvisor.

All 4 of us said we would happily stay at The Old Railway Station again – which we hope to do in the not too distant future.

Room Tip: For more spacious rooms choose those in the Station House.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our two nights sleeping in a Pullman carriage.
The carriages have been beautifully restored, and are very comfortable.
The bathroom is very modern, and there is a separate area to make tea, and a cupboard for clothes.
In the summer it would be lovely to sit on the platform where there are tables and chairs, but cosy in the winter in front of the fire.
We were served a delicious breakfast in the waiting room, which is most attractive.
We were given fresh fruit, cereals or porridge, and plenty of choice for the cooked breakfast.
The Badgers Inn is a very short walk away.

Room Tip: I presume the carriages are similar.

We have just stayed in the Montana Deluxe Pullman coach for 3 nights. What a fabulous setting! The Waiting Room, where breakfast is served, is nostalgic and very welcoming. The breakfasts are excellent and are served by very efficient and friendly staff. The carriage itself provides superb accommodation and is maintained to a very high standard. All in all, we had a great time and would definitely return. Being situated just outside of Petworth, it is a very good base for visiting many interesting places.

Room Tip: If possible, go for the deluxe Pullman carriage

Our second visit, and as good this time as the last. Maintaining standards is always the hardest bit, and maintaining four old Pullman carriages and a wooden station building must be harder still. But one only has to look at the comments from other guests to know that ones own experiences are confirmed. A very warm welcome, another very comfortable night's sleep, another glimpse of the past, that foreign land, and another excellent breakfast to start the day. As a unique place to stay in this beautiful part of England, TORS takes a lot of beating.

Room Tip: Book a King-size Pullman room, the extra space is well-worth the extra cost.
