Description: The Stag InnSimple and unspoilt... the quintessential ale drinker's pubThe Stag Inn family and staff look forward to welcoming you at their beautiful 17th C country pub.Renowned and awarded for its passion for real ales, The Stag Inn also offers a wonderful selection of wines by the glass (or bottle). The menu ranges from simple pub grub and snacks served in the bar (or their lovely garden!) to wonderful English country dining in their charming candlelit restaurant. Look out for superb Salt Beef sandwiches on crusty bloomer as well as local game, steaks, handmade sausages and homemade short crust pies. Fish & shellfish lovers are not forgotten either.Fabulous roasts are served from midday to 4pm every Sunday and the bar is open all day Saturday and Sundays. We provide water and tethering for horses and free treats for our canine friends as well as bags for muddy boots.Hunting, shooting, fishing, walking, cycling, riding, eating and drinking... all welcome!

“A delightful old pub with excellent food”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

We have been twice to the Stagg Inn in the past two weeks. The atmosphere is delightful, a real old country pub with a wood fire. The service was excellent and the food magnificent. The menu is extensive and interesting. Highly recommended.

“Proper local pub - great food!”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

This is not a Gastro Pub that has sacrificed its heritage for the sake of being a "foodie" destination, but a truly local pub with loads of character. A bar full of regulars and a small restaurant with families enjoying the relaxed atmosphere.
The food was excellent and requires a warning sign due to the generous portions!
This was our first visit and will certainly not be our last.

“Birthday dinner”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

Spetember 27. One of my fabourite pubs has always been the Stag, I went there last night(27th) for my wife's birthday. Excellent meal and service. On request they even provided a lovely red rose and a small birthday cake. Beer always excellent here as still kept in top notch condition by past landlord Hamish. The new landlords Erica and Simon are great hosts (although Simon is buried in the kitchen most of the time). Often visit for the odd pint. Great country style pub. Malcolm

“Idyllic setting with great food”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

A get together lunch before golf at a nearby course. I had never been to the village before. Lovely old pub that retains its charm and 'Englishness '
The food was generous, really well presented and delicious. The seared chicken Caesar Salad was light, tasty and imaginative. The staff were charming. Roll on the next golf appointment ....but lunch here first.
