What a lovely evening with good quality, well cooked and beautifully presented food. Access is through a level doorway, so easy for wheelchairs and those with mobility difficulties. The restaurant is well decorated and quite atmospheric, although some may find it a little on the dark side. There is a takeaway and delivery service, but this menu differs from the in-house menu, which is more refined.
The tables are well laid, with good quality white linen. All the cutlery sparkles. Service is very polite, attentive and respectful. Some may find it a little too attentive certainly at the outset, but the staff know when to withdraw. Their purpose is to ensure that the diner(s) fully enjoy the setting and the fare on offer. (Other restaurants take note!)
Starters were not bought to the table immediately; they were served with the care and attention to detail that marked Cinnamon out as a restaurant to return to for all occasions. My friend had the duck which she thoroughly enjoyed whilst I had the calamari. Although this tasted very nice, there was not enough of it on the plate. I felt that the starters were not good value for money.
The main courses were superb. My friend had a chicken dish, whilst I had a seafood dish. Both were very nicely spiced, and balanced dishes. Side dishes were also very tasty. Presentation was excellent, so well worth bringing that special person along, to show them how much you love them. Desserts were on offer but we declined. Next time I go I will not bother with starters, but have a main course with side dishes.
This is a very good dining experience. There is some seriously good cooking happening here; the chef(s) know what they are doing and what they want to achieve. At weekends you will need to book.
