Interesting house with knowledgeable staff. Great trail for children. Beautiful gardens any time of year. Take wellies in the winter though so you can make the most of the woodland walks.

We live reasonably close to Nymans Gardens and so we visit at least once a month. We love the long walks, the flowers, the views over Sussex etc. Our visit today was excellent, even though we had to cut it short due to the really bad downpour which had everyone running back to shelter or their car!

All styles of garden here, beautiful long borders, rose garden, large lawned area with remains of house as backdrop, croquet lawn, pergola . . . the list goes on. At every turn there is a blaze of colour and everything is maintained to the usual Trust standard.
As usual the catering is excellent although you don't get to have it in an historic building - the cafe is a modern contrivance but serves the purpose. The garden centre sells a wealth of unusual plants and ornaments. A beautiful place to indulge you senses.

We stopped here on our down to Eastbourne for a few days - its very close to the main road so it didn't seem much of a detour on our journey. We had visited many years ago but were pleasantly surprised at the changes - a nice restaurant, improved shop & good toilet facilities. The gardens themselves were interesting and easy to get around, the house visit was short but worthwhile and we really enjoyed The Wind in the Willows exhibition which was very well done.

A lovely place to visit and if we lived nearby we would become regulars I am sure.

Super parkland & an interesting property to visit, albeit small. Fantastic for plant lovers (my father), but also great for a day out with young kids. They're always child-friendly (Easter egg hunts etc), but in a discrete & elegant way that doesn't bombard those without children in too obvious a fashion.
