“A beautiful National Trust Property”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Great for walking and seeing part of British heritage, very interesting but the tea rooms are very expensive.

“Lovely Spot”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

A quick drive back towards Gatwick brought us to Nyman's Gardens. This is one of those National Trust properties that nestles in the countryside and could so easily be missed by the unwitting passer-by.

Nyman's itself was a grand house belonging to a wealthy family - but after being ravaged by fire much has remained as a ruined shell. It looks as if it should be a film set for a "Hammer House of Horror" production.

Despite the atmospheric condition of the ruins (and what remains habitable in the house), the National Trust look after the grounds and gardens with great care and attention.

We followed the marked paths - the grassed areas were still very wet and spongy from this week's snow melt. There were clear signs of new growth, if not too much spring blossom at this point.

It was a lovely place to go for a stroll on bright spring day - all rounded off with some hot coffee and scones at the NT Restaurant.

Highly recommended - don't forget to take your camera.

“Great Gardens even in winter”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

on a cold but Sunny March morning we arrived shortly after they opened and was surprised by how many people were already there. the Gardens were excellent and we spent around three hours looking around the gardens. The house sadly had a major fire a long time ago as a result a large part is a ruin. having said that what is left of the house is well worth a visit as all the staff that are there are very interesting and we came away feeling that we knew and could relate to the family that had lived there. will visit again for sure

“Our most-visited venue”

It is always changing slightly. There is a lot of care and thought put into the upkeep and progression of the garden
