“The most friendly hotel I have ever been too....”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Just had the most wonderful stay at the Bailiffscourt Hotel and Spa, staying on a Sunday evening. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and very well briefed. They were the best staff I have encountered in a hotel. We got to enjoy the Spa all day on the Sunday from 11am, even though we were not due to check in till 3pm. Had the most amazing stone massage which was pure bliss, chilled out by and in the pool and jacuzzi which were fabulous. The food at dinner and breakfast was out of this world, fantastic. Our room was lovely and oldy worldy, comfortable with two comfy charis, bed, desk, and wonderful big bathroom. We took full advantage of the real fire that was already to be lit in our room while having afternoon tea. I cannot wait to return!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Wymcroft Room which was lovely and big with a huge bathroom. However, it overlooke...

An anniversary escape from everyday life to this tranquil hotel. Upon arrival the peacocks meet & guide you to a simply delicious old fashioned entrance. The surroundings whether it be croquet, tennis, the beach or a sumptuous treatment at the spa- so many places to relax. The food was simply superb & service enhanced it.. This hotel is a place to unwind, recharge & just Be looked after in.
Highly recommend for a peaceful break!

Bailiffscourt is a wonderful and fascinating place. It's quiet and very tasteful. Superb food, well-appointed rooms, a wonderful spa with adjoining indoor and outdoor pools (heated all year round), and very good tennis courts. We stayed there with another family in half term and were very well looked after. Climping Beach is right next door ( a 5-minute walk) adding an extra dimension to the location.
Highly recommended.

Room Tip: The modern rooms seem to have bigger beds than the Medieval ones.

The atmosphere of the hotel is unique, with several very nice and warm lounges where having a glass of champagne is just a delight. The dining room is fantastic, the food is excellent, and all staff lead by Frank is extremely kind, helpful and professional at all times. The spa is a place you would not want to miss, with one pool and one jacuzzi indoor, one pool and one jacuzzi oudoor. We have been staying in the Bailiffscourt hotel five or six times, and we are looking forward to our next visit ! This romantic hotel is perfect for couples. It is also perfect for families, as there are a lot of activities for children. A wonderful place.

Bailiffiscourt is a superb hotel full of wonderful staff and perfect service BUT and there is a BUT if you are in a wheelchair the stay becomes a problem. There are no ramps in and out of the hotel, only mobile ramps. One ramp was placed for my mother to go into one side of the hotel but when she wanted the toilet they had to head back to their room otherwise it was a case of lifting over steps. As my other has Parkinsons she wished to have breakfast in their room with my father and my son. The room was spacious so I could not understand why a portable table, with table clothes, was not put up in the room for my parents and son to have breakfast on...... The downside to their stay was that a wheelchair cannot get to the pool for a disabled person to go swimming and therefore my mother could not go into the pool with my father and son. There are benches along the side and too near the pool to be able to push a wheelchair to the steps into the pool - such a shame. Also the spa had problems getting my mother of their treatment tables, again problems for the disabled.
The reason for my writing is to warn other disabled people. Fore-warned is fore-armed!

My wife and I stayed for 1 night in February. The location is perfect, being near the sea and with no traffic noise. Our feature room was beautifully furnished and the bed very comfortable. The Spa is superb with 2 pools and well worth a visit.
Dinner was excellent and all staff from check in to check out were very friendly and chatty, always remembering our names.
We definately recommend Bailiffscourt for a relaxing break and will return soon.

Our first visit to BC, my wife and I spent two nights in a superior room, on an inclusive package . We were three couples, although the others stayed one night. All are "seasoned travellers" who typically stay in 10-20 hotels each year all over the world. Baliffscourt is a rather unique venue, rather like staying in a superior private home. The quality of the welcome, and the very agreeable attitude of the staff is evident on arrival, and continues at all times. The warm cosy atmosphere of the public rooms and the bedrooms is enhanced by having open wood fires everywhere (optional in the bedrooms). It was very cold outside when we stayed, but at no time did any part of the hotel feel cold. We much enjoyed the restaurant, and the food quality was very good, although we felt perhaps one or two dishes were rather too complex. Overall the BC is a unique experience, and a refreshing change from so many hotels where the individual customer is not made to feel so valued. We will certainly be going again.

Room Tip: Not enough experience of other rooms.
