Description: A friendly welcome awaits at this timber beamed 17th century inn, popular with residents and visitors alike. Nearby attractions are the beach at Pagham and the tranquil Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve. Always a good selection of beers complemented by popular home cooked meals. These can be taken in the cosy bar, comfortable restaurant or, in the summertime, a choice of outside sheltered dining areas and pleasant gardens.

Used to use this pub in the late 1980s, when holidaying with young children. They used to do 'teeny tiny tot' meals for toddlers, and half price half size meals from the adult menu for the children. Now the children's menu is bog standard sausage and chips etc and far too much (and therefore wasted) for a 3 year old.
However the Sunday roasts were very good. Plenty of good quality meat, huge Yorkshires, lovely roast potatoes and veg (possibly could have been a bit more veg). Full complement of sauces offered.
Service good, quick and friendly.

Good food which, while not the cheapest was worth the price, but the night we visited (mid-week in August) there was only one waitress (who was working very hard) for the entire restaurant which meant service was a bit hit & miss.

Cataplana of cockles, in white wine, shallots and chorizo. The cockles were fresh that morning from Chichester harbour. They were big, fat and juicy. The best cockles I've ever had.Served in a copper cataplana with hot french bread and butter. My guest had the wing of Skate with capers and black butter. Also delicious.

Lovely Sunday roasts, great and friendly service, in the garden! in the sun. Great yorkshires! Really surprisingly uncrowded. Will go again.
