I love Bognor museum. The history of the town is fascinaing and I don't think many people realise just what a long and interesting story it is. Not just the town itself, but the seashore and the ancient history of the whole area. Also impressive are the displays, many handmade, of buildings, long demolished, that used to be in the town and there is a wonderful collection of old radios that has to be seen to be believed. It is amazing that the whole museum is run entirely by volunteers from the Bognor Regis Historical Society.

I used to enjoy visiting this museum as a child. It's small, but you won't regret visiting it because it's very interesting. The wireless/television room was always my favourite part! Did I mention it was free?

I feel it is a shame the museum has had to change premises this year, which may detract visitors seeing as it is not in the central shopping area now. It has a wonderful collection of local historical pieces and run by a friendly volunteer group of staff. Well worth a visit.

Since this museum has moved to West Street it is not so easy to find, but it is well worth hunting it out because you will enjoy your visit, as we did. The history of Bognor is viewed through the little shop fronts and on each visit you will spot something new that you missed last time! The wireless collection will certainly bring back memories. Wake up, Arun Council, and get more signage on the lamposts, etc. so that more visitors to Bognor are able to find this delightful museum. It is so nice to see something interesting which is FREE. If you want to see exhibits in modern steel and glass cabinets under bright lights, and not know what it is you are looking at, then this is probably not the place to go!!!!

However, if you want to see an eclectic array of items, helping to tell the story of possibly the most famous seaside resort outside of Blackpool, then this is a must.

Mock shop fronts, bearing names of Bognor shops long gone, will bring the memories flooding back for the old and not so old. The Wireless Museum conjures up of visits to Aunts who had radiograms with lit up panels listing far off glamorous places such as Luxembourg.

Please go along - you will not be disappointed - I promise you, or your money back. Oh yes, it's free too!
