“Car park West Bromwich”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

Live and work in Sandwell and have used the car park at the new one square in west Bromwich.
They could have installed cameras like a lot of other supermarkets giving you a few hours of free car parking without having to shop in Tesco to get a free parking ticket.
Due to this all of my shopping is now done in Oldbury the cape hill shopping centre or Merry hill all with No ticket machines and free parking for lots of shops ,if I want to shop at Tesco we have one at Dudley on the way back from merry Hill a second at spring hill and one in the Smethwick shopping centre off the high street.
I say vote with your feet and shop else where until they remove the ticket machines.

“Its okay...”

I agree that the car parking facilities in New Square is possibly the worst, and most confusing, I have ever seen!

If you can manage to navigate your way through the sea of chavs, I am sure you will have a good time ... A cinema has now opened and many other shops, proving that Sandwell Council is taking their regeneration project seriously!

Been there a few times now, it is always very busy and, surprisingly, clean!

“Car Park-one to avoid”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

I'm sure that when a few more shops open the 'New Square' in West Bromwich will be an asset to the town. For now though there's a Tesco, Next, a sports shop and Primark will open in a few weeks. There's one or two others others as well and a lot of empty units.

By far the biggest let down though is the car park arrangements: Expensive for a town like West Bromwich, and complicated to use. My wife is disabled but rather than display the badge as normal, one has to go to a Motability office and register the vehicle. A once only process-unless you arrive in a different vehicle, and then you have to start all over again. A disabled badge of course is issued to the person, not the vehicle but rules seem to be reversed here though. Before leaving the car park a code and part of your vehicle registration needs to be entered into a machine. Forget or any mistakes and you can expect a penalty charge. Nice. Confusion reigned amongst car park users at the time of my visit. Asking staff if there are any customer feedback forms available the answer was No. Indicating that management aren't really too bothered about their customers.

In conclusion, I'm scared to use the car park-fearful of a penalty notice if I make an error, and so I am likely stick to my normal shopping arrangements where parking is easy (and free)
