We decided to visit Sandwell Valley Country Park as it looked nice on the website - we didint realise there would an event on at the same time in the showground so the traffic was horrendous and the free car park was closed so had to pay £4 to park our car! We took our daughters bike with us and my middle son took his scooter, we had a nice walk around the lake and then visited the huge playpark there, in fact there are two playparks there, we went on the older one - my two loved it there. You canbuy coffee/teas etc there and also burgers i think but we walked down to McDonalds and got ours from there !

I think there was a crazy golf there and also a pitch and putt there, cycle track and high rope course which was all payable.

All in all a good few hours out !

The Black Country is not known for its rolling countryside and beautiful views but Sandwell Valley Country Park and the RSPB reserve which forms a small part of the country park too are an absolute delight.

There are beautiful views, pools, woodland and open spaces, you can have a really long walk, a great day out and enjoy a whole array of wildlife.

The RSPB are making a fantastic job of attracting widlife and at the other side of the park the Borough Council run a farm which is a visitor attraction which is great for families to learn more about animals etc.

Well worth a visit.

We went to sandwell valley and mainly went for the closer to the edge experience which i must say was fantastic and truely exciting and enjoyable for the whole family. The staff there were nice and you felt very safe (which is what you want when your dangelling 40 foot in the air) and there were a lot of the high ropes lower ones for everyone of all ages.
We hired bikes from closer to the edge of a very reasonble price and as well as this it was free car parking. Plenty of modern play areas for chilidren and the park you could tell had been cleaned and is still in progress of being made better. There are some nice bike rides but a lack of signs for them and they seemed short anyway. In West Bromwich which is well known as a dump you have no idea such a beatifull free attraction could exist.

Visit Sandwell Country Park regularly. There is a small farm and loads of space for playing. There is a really good park, and acres of woodland and a boating lake with lots of wildlife. There are also lots of events that take place here throughout the year. Forgot about the high wire assault course and crazy golf too. Great for all the family.

is Sandwell Valley & you would never imagine that West Bromwich town was just down the road. As a child growing up in the 60s this was where we spent our summer holidays, correction, this was our holidays! Today it's still a fantastic day out for adults & kids alike. Thanks to a lottery grant the park's been revamped & it's absolutely amazing! They have public toilets, a small shop, a cafe, & somewhere to sit & eat your picnic, & many park rides, including zip lining for kids. There's a duck pond (still under construction), but there's still ducks there so don't forget the bread. We have an assault course too for the older kids, (think there may be a fee for this but unsure), & another adventure playground. There's nature trails, cycling, golf, football pitches (games on Sunday), & tennis courts. As if that wasn't enough there's Sandwell Park Farm, entrance fee £1.90 adult, £1.40 kids & over 60s, & they do a family ticket for £5.50 & £7.00. There's a small farmyard, gift shop, butcher selling farm produce, a vegetable & herb garden, fish in pond, a cafe selling hot food & drinks, a large chess & draughts board, picnic area, toilets, & loads of benches for seating, car park. This is one amazing cheap day out, I love it so much that I even had a poem published about the place, that's how good it is!
