“Sunday lunch”
Reviewed March 3, 2013 via mobile

We have just been for Sunday lunch at this hotel. The food was superb for the price £9.90 for two courses on a carvary. There was a large conference being held at the hotel and seating was at a premium but that was the only negative.

I stayed here as working nearby and most convenient. Reception check in was friendly and efficient and all the people working here were very nice. The rooms are to small for me they felt cramped and claustrophobic and a bit cold at times. Meals were ok but nothing really special and the is no atmosphere in the dining areas it all feels very functional. Just looks a bit tired and in need of a revamp.

Booked a standard room after seeing a "50% off, offer". paid less then £40 for room and full "beautiful" breakfast, a price hard to beat for a pretty decent nice hotel!!!.

We was slightly concerned having read some negative comments about the restaraunt, especially when a small child was in our party, i emailed the hotel expressing our concerns, manager Peter Sivy, reassured us that all is ok now with the heating, he then very kindly up graded us to a business room. The room was bright, modern, and a comfortable size for a short break, the bathroom was very nice, modern and clean.

We had 1 small complaint and that was i found several small pieces of rubbish, under the bed and under the dresser, nothing good house keeping standards cant improve by giving a thorough vacuum, even in places you cant see!!!!!!!.

Not very often do you find a hotel were ALL the staff or very polite, helpful, and cheerful. WELLDONE.

Restaurant and bar very nice, and price's reasonable. Our starter's were "almost" al a cart, and very very tasty, though, the main meal was slightly disappointing.
.
Nice liesure facilities with pool, and NO charge.

Over all a great valued break for the price we paid.

The Park Inn West bromwich is fine for an over night stay with no frills. the hotel itself is well situated near the motorway and has ample parking which is free. The rooms themselves are small in size but have everything you need to accomodate an overnight stay or two. The place has two places to eat, a bar menu and a sit down menu. The food is simple but I have to say most enjoyable.
Breakfast is £10 on top of the room charge which with an all you can eat can fill you up for the day if you allow it to. The staff are attentive and happy to help when needed.

We booked the break and there was 5 of us on this stay, me, my partner, my daughter (7), son (2) and son 14 weeks and we enjoyed our stay for my birthday. We arrived and checked into our room, fed my son and then we headed over to use the swimming pool, only bad thing is it could if been better sign posted from the lift from level 1. The swimming pool and facilities were great would if liked some changing rooms that have individual rooms and not an open space as I'm not a pretty site after 3 kids lol. Plenty of room around the pool for my baby who slept in his pram while we relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. We asked on reception for some take away menus as we were wanting to relax in our room and watch some tv after we had a bath. The staff on the reception were lovely and made conversation with our children and we were made to feel very welcome, the rooms were very nice and the only thing we could of done with is bigger bins as the nappies soon filled them up. The breakfast was really good with a good selection for both the adults and the children we all enjoyed this, again the staff were really nice. The check out times are good too but we had a early shopping trip planned as we had to be home early. We would of loved to of stopped an extra night.

Room Tip: We had room 316 on the 3rd floor, comfy bed and not noisy at all

I struggled to title this review - on one hand I'd like to say 'Perfect', but that wouldn't be accurate. So I opted for the above and I'll ty to define it.

The Hotel nestles alongside the Black Country Route & the M5 Jct1 slip road and isn't the easiest to find unless you know it, or pay attention to map/directions. Once found, you will realise that the location is actually very good - close to main routes, but far enough away from them so not to be affected by traffic noise. The Hotel appears to be of 1960's construction and has various levels to it due to the hill it is built upon. Car parking is free for guests & official visitors (make sure you have your vehicle details when checking in) and is monitored by ANPR type cameras to deter any 'match day' parking by footy fans visiting the Hawthorns about 1/2 mile away.

So, what about the accommodation? Well, our room was great, we asked for a quiet one & that's what we got. It was clean, fairly spacious and decorated in a modern, contemporary manner with a Queen Size bed (I'll come back to this). The bathroom was similarly appointed, with a large walk-in shower and the towels big and fluffy. The wall-mounted TV was big (by some hotel standards) and modern, with a fully functioning Remote Control, there was also a modern hair drier and a Kettle, along with an assortment of tea/coffee/milk/sugar and those strange 'caramelised' biscuits that every hotel seems to have! - A big tick here then and 5 points ... Ye-es & then not quite. Let me return to the subject of the bed .. Great size, firm but not hard, good pillows ... and a King Size quilt that didn't quite cover us in the night?? So, whilst the sleep quality should have been great, we were constantly tugging at the cover when one of us rolled over and removed it from the other!

The service was friendly and efficient, breakfast was great and a must if you are staying here (loads of choice and well cooked/presented - buffet style) and there is a bar with numerous meeting areas if you wnat to catch up with friends, family or colleagues. Another nice touch was the room survey that asked about the type of soap/shampoo guests would prefer, which we filled in - I'd be interested to see the results from that.

This is a good Hotel and definitely a cut above the more advertised competition for the sector they appear to be aiming at, as a result it offers excellent value for money without being 'cheap' or cheapened by a lack of customer focus - I can recommend it to all travellers to the west Birmingham and Black Country area and we will visit again when we are next in the area ... sort those quilts out and I'll consider making the next review a '5' \o/

Room Tip: Do as we did and ask - the staff are very helpful \o/

Went to this hotel with National Holidays on Saturday 16th February. The check in was speedy and we were in our room in no time. We had room 220. This was a twin room and was OK. The shower was good but you had to unhook the shower head to get the right temperature before getting in. This could have proved a problem for some people.
The food in the restaurant was basic but you would not go hungry. The evening meal was carved ham and the usual vegetables. There was a vegetarian option as well. The dessert was gateau, this had been frozen. The breakfast was varied. The choice was, cereal and toast, bacon, eggs and other fried items, plus cheese and ham, fruit and yoghurts. All in all for what we paid it was good value.

Room Tip: We had room 220. We found this room to be quiet. It overlooked the back of the hotel.
