Good all round hotel with filling breakfast, don't expect to find any bacon ... The dining area did feel a bit open and not very welcoming. Hotel room on third floor overlooking busy road to the front but room was very quiet and we all slept very comfortably. Television was predated and annoying they only supply only one plug socket so helpful hint to take an extension cable! Bathroom clean and nice hot shower with seperate toilet room. We had a little accident with our daughter on the last day and told them straight away thinking we would get a large cleaning bill they were very understanding and thanked us for telling them. didn't expect that. Over all nice hotel for a few days break or stop over.

Room Tip: Sofa beds are a bit lumpy and over take the room.

Dear Guest

Thank you for kindly leaving a review of the hotel on TripAdvisor, as a hotel we pride ourselves on excellent customer service. Staff are particularly family based so we understand the trials and tribulations of travelling with small children.

Our free breakfast does differ from time to time, we don't have bacon as a set standard however it is something that we are looking at introducing in the very near future. We are aware that a lack of plug sockets in guest bedrooms is an issue and do provide extension leads for guests if needed which are available at reception, we would have been glad to have helped with this issue. Accidents do happen from time to time and we are glad that your daughter was OK.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future.

Kind Regards

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights - 16th & 17th January 2014 - over from Norfolk on personal business - a very trying time, with lots going on all day - but when we returned to the hotel each night it was like a lovely oasis of calm and comfort.

Room Tip: No problems at all - staff very very helpful and friendly

The hotel is right on the side of the motorway (keep an eye out for the exit!). We stayed for one night here. Free parking was provided by the hotel. The staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable. Free wi-fi was available. Breakfast was good with plenty of options available. Will recommend.

We stayed at this hotel over the New Year period and even though the hotel didn't cater for any entertainment, there's a pub just a couple a meters away which compensated. The Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and always knew the answers/suggesstions for our needs. The building is clean and the rooms are spotless. It was nice having such a perfect room (in our opinion) awa from home. We also loved the breakfast which was varied. The only downfall is that it is a bit far from the Birmingham International Airport compared to other hotels and the taxi fares to & fro averages to £35-£40 one way. It is quite easy to get to the city centre though and you can reach there by taking the bus (we bought a family day saver ticket for £8) and the trip is about 30 mins.

Room Tip: We had Room No, 28 on the ground floor and for our purpose it was great.

I stayed one night with family as unfortunately we were attending a funeral nearby. My dad initially wanted to book Britannia but I recoiled in horror at this given their reputation! The lobby area is spotlessly clean and lively when you enter with comfortable chairs to relax in. As you move onto the rooms, they are spotless too- it isn't just a facade here- the standards are maintained throughout the hotel.
The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable with decent tea and coffee. The breakfast had a decent choice but could have done with more space in the self-service area as it got crowded at peak times.
The hotel has a pub next door, not brilliant but decent value and definitely a place for families. handy location for driving, but tricky for public transport.
This hotel is very well looked after and a credit to the housekeeping staff who keep it so immaculate.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn express Oldbury over Christmas. Had a great stay. Brilliant service, excellent facilities, polite and courteous staff. Very good breakfast selection. Comfortable beds and spacious room. Even with the sofa bed open and cot we were ok. Definitely would recommend and use again. Family friendly.
