Beautiful Newly Built Hotel

I stayed with friends for a weekend in Birmingham. My experience at the Ramada Birmingham Oldbury Was absolutly outstanding. The staff were brilliant, you could see customer care was paramount.
Our bedroom was very impressive with walk in shower, flat screen tv. The food was out of this world and the hotel was so very clean throughout. You could see the newly built hotel is a credit to the area being the only full service hotel locally. Well done Ramada the hotel is a credit to you I wish it was mine.

As the last review said there are still problems with the hotel.

I thought (wrongly) that the problems would have been corrected by now.

The lift is out of order (again or still)

One problem with the front doors has been fixed; they have removed the inner ones!!
The outer doors are still not right (only one side opens)

If you are eating in the restaurant sit over on the right hand side out of the draught, the food is expensive £25.00 for a main, a side and a beer, but it is nice.

As has been said before the beds are too big for the rooms and you are not left with enough room between the bed and the 'desk'

Come on Ramada sort it out.

We freely admit there has been problems with some facillities not being available and in use from when we first opened the hotel in June 08 and we wholeheartedly apologise for this.
We have put procedures in place to attend and improve our facillities and all being freely available for our guests.
The lift is now fully operational, we offer meal deal 'Daily Specials' in our Chic restaurant, we have attended to missing bulbs in rooms and the overall general hotel maintenance is ongoing.
All the points raised by our guests are being attended to and will be resolved as soon as possible.

Stayed here as I had a meeting in Birmingham. Fantastic hotel I have stayed in many hotels but this was something special; it has an Eastern theme running throughout the entire decor.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was a good size with a large bed and a flat screen TV with sky also bathroom was very well designed.

Had breakfast at 7:00am it was a very good buffet breakfast, all was fresh not like some places you go where the bacon has been sitting out for hours and hours.

Will Definitely Return and Recommend.

Brand new just opened in June this year, but already have problems with glass doors at front of building, not working correctly, the lift was out of order, and no leisure centre yet ! waiting on equipment coming from Germany !!
Did they not know and anticipate this when planning the hotel !!
This Ramada to me is a little better than a HI Express .
Indian theme throughout the Hotel hence very different, most UK Hotels are designed for the "European Uk Traveller "
I found the indian food expensive a main course for 2 plus a bread basket was £28,and not a lot of it ! pints of beer £3.30/£3.40 thats pretty standard.
The breakfast cold area was not !,the milk only full fat was warm
The decor is nice, the beds are big ,too big for the rooms in my opinion, not a lot of room to move around them.
The bathrooms are different, small and awkward,i was in room 207 in the first night, the heated shower rail didnt work, the ceiling on the room itself looked as though it needed another coat of paint ! No bulb in tall lamp,The wardrobe moved as though it was self assembly and not done well.
I was in room 201 the 2nd night just seemed a better room the towel rail worked ,their was a bulb in the tall lamp, however the cable tv was getting a very poor reception.
Overall this hotel was not of the standard of the bigger brands, and needs someone with an eye for detail to get things sorted.
I wont rush back and am more likely to book the Ramada Encore just along the road,or the Hi Express at the same price, the standards better !or rather things work or are sorted quickly !

We apologise for the issues experienced and freely admit that we have had teething problems since we opened our doors in June 08.
The hotel lift is now fully operational, our restaurant menu now offers 'daily specials', & the cold breakfast buffet chiller is checked daily.
We have attended to the niggling issues with bulbs and lamps in our rooms, and have ongoing maintenance programme in place.

The management are committed to offer a great stay at our hotel for our guests.

I had driven past this new hotel and seen the massive chandelier through the large glass windows so fancied staying here, but I felt this is pretty much where the opulence ended. I rang to find out the best price I could get and was told £65 by a woman and there was no budging on it despite after our arrival discovering that the hotel must have been empty as there was not one person in the bar or at breakfast - it was eery. I would recommend people go on some search website and get something better for about £50 or stay at the Holiday Inn Express down the road (for less probably online). It had not long opened which can arguably justify the wires hanging out of the walls/coming from the ceiling but cant really justify why already wallpaper was coming away from the walls or the holes in our bedroom walls where it looked like someone was going to put up a shelf then changed their mind. We mentioned that we were unhappy when we checked out and the girl wrote these things down - but how can anyone not notice? Aside from this the hotel was blatantly decorated on the cheap - cheap tv,furnishings, poor quality bed, dunelm curtains and likewise they must have used cheap builders-some of the carpets were like the ones you get in shared houses. I was probably expecting a certain standard from Ramada and was bitterly disappointed though there is a sign on reception that it is not owned by Ramada but by someone else under licence.

We freely admit that we have had teething problems within areas of our hotel since we opened June 08 and we apologise to our guests.
We have made changes and improvements since we opened, the hotel lift is now fully operational, our restaurant menu now offers daily specials at discounted prices, and a planned maintenance programme is in place for issues with lamps, decoration and furnishings.
Our furnishings were sought from worldwide suppliers that would compliment the design and style of the hotel.
The bespoke designed carpets have been fitted throughout are also in keeping with our overall design & style & are specifically made for hotel heavy contract use.
We are always striving to improve our standards & service for our guests & visitors. Where these have not been met we will respond fairly and positively when the stay has been found lacking.
