“Great value with old English inns offer”
Reviewed April 1, 2013 via mobile

Great offer with old English inns meant two night bed and breakfast for £59.95 for two people. Have stayed here before, room smaller than the last one we had, but was quiet considering there was a disco on the first night for a private party. We were not disturbed by the noise. Restaurant food good, but Sunday roast a bit disappointing, good value at 241 but very flat Yorkshire puddings. Desserts very nice, friendly staff and nice breakfasts. Close to Twycross zoo if you want to visit.

Just returned from two night stay here, can't fault it. Excellent value for money paid.
This is a lovely hotel with some nice features. The water wheel being one and the lovely fire in the bar area. The rooms were of a good size and well equipped with all you need to enjoy a pleasant stay. Unfortunately what brought us to the hotel was to attend a funeral.
We chose this hotel because of the reviews here on trip advisor and as already stated the excellent value for money.
If we ever have cause to be in this area again, we wouldn't hesitate to return. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

Just back from 2 night stay Hotel was lovely. Staff helpful and friendly The young lady who served us both morning for breakfast was very nice, her name was Aggie. The room we stayed in is the reason for a 4 not a five. Room number 2, room itsself was great large and warm overlooking the road and the fields opposte. But the noise from (we were told water tanks and pump above the room) was way to loud and kept me awake for long periods both nights. I did question this on the saturday morning but nothing was done to help the situation. Offer of a room change would have been nice if there had been any spare rooms. We had an evening meal on the saturday and it was lovely. Breakfast was good best poached eggs I have ever had although didnt like the sausage needed to be cooked a lot more I would stay here again if in the area but not in room 2 lol

Room Tip: Avoid room 2

Thank you for your feedback regarding your visit at the weekend. We're now going to get the water noise resolved in room 2 so next time you're with us it'll be a 5. Once again thank you very much and see you again soon Regards,

This really is a lovely place to stay, all the staff are friendly, efficient and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble! The rooms are well equipped and comfortable in every respect. Excellent value!

We did dine in the restaurant the food was delicious and served promptly and with a smile, fantastic breakfast - a buffet of fruit, cereals, yoghurt and then followed by an extensive choice of cooked breakfast served at your table, Aggie our waitress at breakfast was a lovely young lady and made sure that we had everything we wanted.

We will definitely return and will have no hesitation in recommending to others!

We stayed here for one night in January before going for a flight from Birmingham airport. We arrived fairly late due to snow but were welcomed and quickly checked in. The hotel is beautifully refurbished, very tasteful and modern but with lots of old features. The room was small but very clean and had everything we needed. We had a drink in the very pleasant bar area. Breakfast was very very good, I enjoyed a properly served breakfast instead of a do it yourself buffet, it made a really lovely change, the waitress was very attentive and was always aware when your coffee needed topping up!. It was a really great find and only cost 30.00 for the both of us.....a true bargain!! We are now trying to find an excuse to visit the area again so we can go back!!
