As long as you don't go expecting a fantastic hotel for a budget price then you won't be disappointed! The rooms are basic but the beds are comfortable and we had everything we needed. We took a personal DVD player that we plugged into the tv so we could watch films. We also took food and drink for the room to save us spending a fortune in the bar. The restaurant was nice with helpful staff. If you leave the restaurant hungry it's your own fault. Very close to twycross zoo so ideal base.

we spent one night at Bosworth Hall on a special deal, and found it to be incredible value. The hotel itself could maybe do with a makeover, but it was clean and comfortable and in an excellent situation.we received a jug of Pimms on arrival, together with a glass of strawberries, which we enjoyed whilst sitting on one of the terraces overlooking the beautiful grounds.the lovely village of Market Bosworth is less than 5 minutes walk away, through the churchyard and is well worth a visit. The evening meal in the carvery, was quite acceptable with a choice for each course, but we were disappointed that we couldn't upgrade to Crofter's Restaurant,as it only opens on a Friday and Saturday. The only adverse comment that I would make,is that the hotel is understaffed, which means that tables don't get cleared both inside and outside and that the wait at the bar was rather tedious. All things considered, there is absolutely nothing that anyone could genuinely complain about, had they gone on the deal that we went on.It was fantastic value and I would definitely go again.

Room Tip: We had room 240 which was situated not too far from the restaurant and bar area and was quite spacio...

We visited bosworth hall hotel to celebrate my 63rd birthday on 25th june 2013. What a dissappointment. The whole experience was a disaster. There was only one restaurent open and far too many people,we had to wait even though we had booked a time. You had to que up to get a drink as well. The bedroom was dirty an tatty, and when we were moved to a refurbished room the towel rail was broken and the shower only worked if you sat in the bath(no pressure).
And the spa was fully booked when we arrived.

Room Tip: Can't help we did'nt see any good ones.

Booked the hotel as part of a groupon deal - very cheap price so didn't expect wonders but my god....

We went on a Thursday night and didn't arrive until late due to work but the place was heaving. As there was nowhere to sit in the bar and it was 9 o'clock we thought we would eat straight away - but were told to "go to your room and come back in a bit for a table" (exact words!) so not sure when they were last taught some customer service.

Anyway, we did as we were told and went to our room. It was a reasonable size but so hot I couldn't stay there without sitting with my head out the window! it was also very tired looking, with leaflets from twenty years ago and a very wobbly bed!

Due to the heat in the room we went back down to eat - a table was pointed out and we were left to it - no explanation that it was carvery, no offer of a drink etc. When we did go and get food, there was very little to choose from and what was there was very dry. Needless to say we skipped dessert and went to the bar

Bar was also shabby looking with torn seats and dirty glasses everywhere. Customer service was lacking again - no smile, no knowledge of drinks available, and very poor wine! Staff even came round at one point and asked if we could go to reception and ask for drinks as he wanted to go home!

Next morning was no better - same poor service in restaurant, same poor food (if not worse!). Was told there was a 15 min wait for a table and they would call us in by our room number. when they did call our room number, they didn't even bother checking the room cards and sat another couple so we were told to wait again!

We thought our saving grace would be the spa treatments we had booked - so after breakfast we strolled round to Spindles. When we arrived two members of staff were chatting and looked most annoyed we had disturbed their conversation - when I explained we were there for our massages we were told a member of staff had called in sick so they couldn't do them both at the same time. we agreed that was fine only to be told by the beauty staff that she was doing massages all day and wouldn't do them both - I could pick a facial or get my nails done! when I explained that I had just had my nails done and couldn't have a facial due to sensitive skin she just looked at me and said that's all my options. I was furious! As my husband clearly didn't want his nails painted - he agreed to have the massage whilst I used the spa - another disappointment! Smelly, dirty changing rooms, sauna and steam room, cold pool and no atmosphere.

Overall this was one of the worst stays we have ever had - shabby building, ignorant and rude staff!!!!

Room Tip: Pick another hotel!

The friend I was staying with had her bank cards, driving license and filofax stolen from our room when we were out at dinner. There was no sign of forced entry which pointed to an inside job.

Before realising her cards were missing she received a call from "Natwest Fraud Team" who told her that there had been fraudulent activity on her account. After giving a very plausable account, alarm bells started to ring when she asked for my friend's PIN number. My friend refused and called Natwest who informed her that there was no fraudulent activity!

Informed hotel "management" who was useless in resolving the issue and had in fact informed us that this was the SECOND reported theft of the day. We also had a look on Trip Advisor only to find that there had been theft of credit cards and clothing on TWO occasions a few days earlier. Had we been informed of this at check in we would have at least ensured no valuables were left in the room. The police have been informed.

Room Tip: Rooms are prone to theft

Attended wine tasting weekend in Bosworth hall and was appalled by lack of organisation, communication, service, food and cleanliness throughout our 2 night stay.

Add though that wine company were not too blame as it was hotel not informing them of over booking to allow them to bring sufficient facilitators and wine!!!

Only good thing was that duty manager listened to my issues and apologised and I was given a refund. There were a long line of people complaining and I really felt for the duty manager having to put up with resolving issues that were wide ranging and the general manager should be listening and acting.

Shame as fantastic venue

Room Tip: Ask for refurbished room on higher floor

Bosworth Hall is a truly wonderful building and location, the small village is just 5 minutes walk away and the gardens are a pleasure but .... It amazes me how they cold take such a wonderful building and turn it into such a poor hotel. Accommodation is very poor and dated almost to the point of being shabby. Do not take a standard room, the one we were in was extremely small dated and very hot (out side temperature was 20 but inside it felt hotter and very sticky). We upgraded to an executive room which to give you an idea was on a par with a Premier Inn room but without the TV!. TV reception was very poor and when the tv remote packed in we were told that there was nothing they could d until the next day, itmonlynneeded a battery!

Food was filling and that is the best that can be said about it. Jenny's carvery was where we had to eat as the Comptons restaurant was only open on a Friday and Saturday night. The roast was ok but the veg was tasteless and if it wasn't for the texture you woudln't have known what was in your mouth. Very poor really and not at all what you would expect.

Overall very disappointing my advice would be stay somewhere else and just pop in to see the old part of the building (the new extensions are naf) and then walk into the village square for afternoon tea! A great location ruined!

Room Tip: Standard rooms are very poor and the others are shabby and dated go for the best it may just make av...
