We have stayed 4 times over the last 2 years and visited for meals only a few times when in the area. It is an all round lovely hotel with good facilities and various rooms to sit, something to suit all from quite old areas to busier lounge bars. The gym and pool are both enjoyable and the gardens are worth a walk around. There are two restaurants one self service again both offer a good choice of food. The wine is a little expensive for a 3 star hotel and the drinks about average for this type of hotel. We have always tried to upgrade our room as the standards are not very spacious but adaquate. If you like older buildings with some history you will enjoy the old part of the hotel which has some lovely rooms including a library. On the downside sometimes very busy and the self service dining room can be quite hard to get in and out of your seat. Look out for offers as can be quite expensive. The village is small but nice with a couple of pubs, larger towns are only a short drive away.

Room Tip: if you want the leisure facilites ask for a room near them,

I was worried about booking having looked at reviews on this sight, but am pleased to say that we had a lovely stay. We booked the 2-night VIP stay direct with the hotel which included dinner, bed and breakfast at a very reasonable, competitive rate. The hotel staff are to be commended - they were all very pleasant, accommodating and cheerful - staff we encountered were, reception, bar, waiting, leisure centre and housekeeping. The standard room we were in was clean and well equipped and appropriately priced. I hope this helps people.

A stay at Bosworth Hall Hotel and Spa is perfect for anyone who wants to feel thin. You’ll be in the company of people not troubled by the current fad for fasting; and will struggle to spot anyone with a BMI of under 35: check out their breakfast buffet and see why! But if you seek jolly, unpretentious surroundings, inhabited by jolly uninhibited folk, this is the destination for you. Plenty of food, smiles and tired paintwork. Dinner in the 'baronial' table d'hôtel Cromptons (don't think baronial) is not an upgrade and stretches the image of fine dining. The staff at this establishment are its best feature: English (honestly), polite and hardworking. My cohorts would have liked to be asked if everything was to their satisfaction, only to complain about the wedding disco beat throughout the night, but I slept through it, courtesy of a surfeit of highly-coloured rosé…
The highlight was the full body massage I enjoyed in Spindles Leisure Club, given by Francesca, who is talented and delightful.
The best of basic British.

Went for second time, for one night on a Groupon deal - £59 for 2, incl 2-course dinner, B & B and bottle house wine.
Good - room was decent size although a little tired, but good value for money. Excellent water pressure in bath. Good service all round by staff. On reception, I asked belatedly for a room near to reception as my partner disabled and I'm struggling to walk with an injury sustained at the gym(!). They gave us a suitable located one with short walk and lift so that was helpful. Evening meal was very good. Would normally have cost £18.95 each and wine would normally have cost £14.25 so this deal was excellent value.
Bad - breakfast was a bit of a shambles. Help-yourself buffet. Food Ok but not great and poor choice. White soggy toast (no wholemeal choice), usual full English, tinned fruit (no fresh), all cups on table dirty and had to ask for clean ones - lots of people doing this I noticed. Difficult to get any assistance e.g to order tea and coffee and tables were not being cleared quickly enough. Not a very pleasant experience all round and I certainly would have complained quite vociferously if we had paid full price here.

Having said all that I think we would still go again if there was a good deal. Living in Rugby it's only half an hour's drive for us so we use it as a night out and a short break from the stresses of running a business. We could have used the pool and spa for free but didn't so can't comment on quality.

Stayed here for one night on business - never again! On arrival there was a queue to check in that was extending out of the door. There were two staff in reception but it took over 45 mins to get to the front of the queue and check in. A total shambles. I was given access to the gym (after being asked to pay an additional £4!) and i went straight down there only to be told it closed at 7.30 pm (before I had even got checked in!).

Dinner was awful and involved yet more queuing just to get into a half empty restaurant because there was only one member of staff checking people onto the restaurant, filling in a form formeach guest, mgetting them tomsign it, taking temmto tables, clearing other tables... etc.

I had a very bland 3 course meal from the carvery. Not a single plate/dish was removed from my table during the meal nor did anyone even ask if I wanted a drink.

On departure at 6.45am there was yet another queue in reception to check out!

There is clearly a massive issue with the staffing and management within this hotel. It is so poorly organised and not a single manager in site.

Had booked via a Groupon offer and after reading some reviews I became anxious re some of the negative comments. However as my mum always says "Speak as you find!". As a group of 6 ladies we could not fault our stay. Very clean comfortable rooms overlooking an immaculate lawn. Lovely hot power shower, good facilities in room with soft fluffy towels - Swimming facilities good - remember to take your own towels and 10p for lockers.
Breakfast in Jenny's was busy - meal adequate- however flasks on table should be changed for every new diner - not just left on table to share - but on asking for them to be changed there was no problem in doing so - must admit staff were kept busy in here.
Evening meal in Compton was superb our waitress Selina along with 2 other young waiters were attentive and friendly. Meal very well presented and fresh and how lucky that a bottle of house wine thrown in free per couple!
Lovely village/church and park nearby - with grounds of Bosworth Hall making a pleasant walk.
Afternoon tea was lush and lovely to sit/chill with friends
Ignorant to mention place is full of old people - if so- What is the problem? Remember we all get older!! We found a good mix of ages.
Yes the building is old and some areas worn - but don't let this put you off if you wanted 5 star luxury surely you would expect to pay 5* prices?!
We visited on a Sunday maybe this is a quieter time? - So please do not be put off - already looking for another offer here. Another plus was there are many quiet areas throughout the hotel to sit/drink/chat and RELAX!!

When we arrived we took one look at the building from the outside and thought wow, we will be in for a very good one night stay. The building in very picturesque. We checked in no problem and reserved a table in the a la carte restaurant. We then proceeded to our room which was very basic, kettle, 2 tea bags and 2 coffee sachets, hair dryer 2 soaps and 2 shampoos. The room was reasonably clean. So far so good. At 7.30 went for our dinner in the a la carte restaurant. Service was fair but for a la carte there were no tablecloths just cheap paper serviettes, the wine glasses were all dirty. My wife ordered pâté and I ordered home made leek and potato soup, the pâté came out with 3 tiny pieces of bread and the pâté was of a very cheap variety. The soup was more like mashed down baby food. Next course we both ordered roast beef dinner, when it arrived the beef was ok but everything else had been microwaved ie roast potatoes, new potatoes, Yorkshire and all the veg. You get a better roast in the Toby. Got up the next morning and went to get my newspapers I had ordered and guess what there were none. Looking forward to breakfast, we went down and had to wait for a table. When we got in the tea and coffee was served in flasks that looked like they had not been washed for weeks and also the coffee was cold. The breakfast room was more like a dormitory . We started off with cereal which was obviously a cheap brand. Went to get our breakfast buffet style and firstly the plates were cold, then as we looked around the sausages were pink cheap and nasty, the bacon was a cheap variety and dry, mushrooms were soaked in oil, need I carry on. This has got to be the worst experience we have ever had from a chain hotel. Give it a wide birth.
