Stayed here for three nights on B&B basis. Room allocated was 174 which was at the far end of the hotel overlooking open fields. Room was basic but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was small but adequate. Good job we took our own toiletries as the ones provided by the hotel were not replaced after the first night. Room did get very warm during the night even with radiator turned off. Breakfast was a vast improvement over the last time we stayed here 12 months ago. Good variety of food and all well cooked. No rush or queue fro tables despite the hotel being used by the hierarchy of the Church Of England for a conference. Hotel was full which meant car parking was at a a premium but we managed to find a space each night. Only complaint really was when other guests allowed the bedroom doors to slam shut. Good stay and value for money on this occasion.

We stayed here on a Groupon deal,we came down early to have a drink before the evening meal and were going to book it to our room it took 40mins to sort out with reception that messed you about and didnt explain things, this hotel have a totally different set-up to any hotel in the land, the evening meal in upstairs restaurant was fine and staff were good no problem there,
We used the swimming pool and jacuzzi which is also fine apart from no-one tells the system
such has you need money to put in lockers ,(which when we use pools at other hotels you have your own key on a wrist band )and the men have to obtain a padlock for their lockers
Room was comfy, warm no problems there either
Breakfast was a complete shambles, you have to queue to get a ticket,we queued to get into restaurant when we got to front which took 25 mins we were then given a ticket with number on then told to go back in queue until number is called so we waited around 1hr to get into room to have breakfast NOW to find the tables full of dirty used dishes and plates and food all over the tables and floor and there was NO FOOD left nor orange juice
We asked for the duty manager,a lady arrived who said that both the duty manager and hotel manager were on leave she was the house keeper
she did get things going and arranged for the counters to be refilled, but we had to ask 5 times for a cup of tea and when it came they bought a teapot, sugar and orange juice but no cups and no milk,we are now giving up the will to live
The week-end we were there the hotel was full and no spare rooms
they REALLY NEED TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER,has they solely rely on coaches and it wouldnt take long to sort out the problems here if they concerntrated on staff training
and got in a decent management team

Room Tip: one where they serve breakfast ??????????????????????

This hotel is in a beautiful location, the public rooms are very nice, pool area is lovely, and we really enjoyed our stay there after the initial chaos when we arrived. If someone took the time to tell people on coach holidays that there are 3 different dining rooms and that you have to check on a board at reception to see where you will be eating for each breakfast and dinner, there wouldn't be the mayhem that we encountered. A man got on board the coach when we arrived and said our meal was at 6 but no explanation about different dining rooms and our driver also could have explained but didn't. The food when we found it was very good. I feel this is a good hotel totally let done by lack of organisation. Also it wouldn't take much to put a sign up saying where and when the entertainment is. There were people wandering all over and none of the staff knew anything. Despite all that we had a really good time and would go back again.

The general tidiness off the hotel ,fittings and furnishings are tired and need some money spent on them .no phone signal.there was a wifi set up but didn't have any signal, and this was a room right next to the reception. Having a walk around the gardens in the hotel itself there was broken beer bottles cigarette stubs left all over the place .The wood on the windows are rotten around the back were you would have the wedding reception.
The most disgusting I found we went to look at the spa and facilities and out side there was a outside ashtray overflowing with rubbish etcstrewn allaraound it
