We live locally and recently dined again in Cromptons restaurant. (There is no way we would ever eat in Jennys again!). Although it cannot be classified as "fine dining" - Softleys is the only choice there - it does have a lot of plus points, not least of which is the spacious dining room. It makes for a very pleasant, relaxing meal where you are not part of everyone else's conversation. The staff here are young but well trained, very friendly and extremely obliging. Our starters of smoked mackerel and pate were OK. We were there to sample a couple of vegetarian options for a function in April so can't comment on the main courses from the menu. However, they looked well presented and most people seemed to be enjoying them, although I did see one lady return both her soup and her main course. Our vegetarian mains were imaginative and tasty. We sampled a choice of two dishes - a spicy fajita, which was nicely spiced but a little dry and lacking in filling, and a potato cake with stilton rarebit and asparagus, which was exceptional. The meal was accompanied by a very good selection of perfectly cooked vegetables. We chose the house white wine, which was acceptable. My partner chose the chocolate fudge cake for dessert, and rather regretted it since I ate most of it - I had one taste and couldn't stop eating it, much ot the amusement of our waitress. Overall, Cromptons is a good choice for an informal meal in elegant, relaxed surroundings with attentive, welcoming staff. If only all the hotel staff and food were of the same standard. Softleys is our first choice in Bosworth for a special meal, but for something more informal, we would always choose Cromptons.

I have given this review an excellent status, not based on the actual hotel itself but on the actual value for money we had received with our Groupon Deal, for 2 course evening meal, bottle of wine and breakfast. I did not live far away and knew this well respected hotel with a lot of history to it would be a delight to see and it did not disappoint with its extensive grounds and park to walk around. My first impression of the public reception area was it needed updating and brightening up.The public areas were fairly cold in temperature too. The receptionist who welcomed us was very friendly. There was a an element of confusion as we had asked which restaurant we could eat in. There was Jenny's self service restaurant and Cromptons a french style a la carte. We were told we could chose between the two but needed to book. However when we queried with another receptionist who was rather curt, about the note on Cromptons menu that a £6 supplement would be applied, she told us that we could only eat in Cromptons with our Groupon deal but no supplement would be applied. We were glad we ate at Cromptons because the meal was superb and talking to other guests at breakfast who were there on a similar deal but paid excessively more than us and also had to eat at Jenny's carvery they were extremely disappointed with the food so we had a better deal. Our bedroom was adequate, clean, and we had a good nights sleep, but decor dated and needed updating, but for what we paid we did not expect anything grander. We visited the hotel's health spa and enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi, you could pay for treatments if required. The food that we had was an extremely high quality and even the free bottle of wine was very palatable. I would like to mention the majority of the staff, were friendly and helpful, especially in Crompton's restaurant. My only criticism of the food would be breakfast was taken in another room which was set up in haste to cope with the visitors and the staff had forgotten to light the gas warmers underneath the serving trays and the toast was cold and hard, a toast machine where guests could make their own would be a benefit. It was a very enjoyable stay and the town of Market Bosworth is a delight with its array of local shops, and some really good pubs and coffee shops.

We stayed at Bosworth Hall for the Christmas 2012 Break (our second visit to this particular hotel). We paid extra for early check in and our room was ready as promised. The Hotel was as nice as we remembered from our previous visit. The food was excellent despite the number of people that they had to feed, particularly on Christmas Day. Membership of the Spindles Health Club was also included in our stay. The room was well appointed and we had no complaints. One nice surprise was the fact that they now have Wi Fi in all the rooms whereas previously it had only been in the public areas.

Room Tip: The garden rooms at the back of the hotel on the ground floor are very nice and quiet.

Bosworth hall
A party of 8 of us decided to take a 2 night break offer, with half board & a 99p bar from 6pm-11pm through GN Holidays.
We arrived early, plenty of car parking spaces, check-in not till 2pm, receptionist said she would check to see if our rooms were ready, 3 out of the 4 rooms were ready so we were able to check in.
Drinks in bar were hotel prices but they do 'happy hour' on beer Monday to Friday, 12-2pm.
We were advised to book a table in Jenny's restaurant as the hotel had a number of coach parties.
We approached the restaurant to book a table & the young man was very helpful & advised us of when the restaurant was at its busiest.
A trip to the village found us having lunch at the red lion pub, it was very busy but service was friendly & good, food is served till 2pm.
a pleasant walk around the small village, which contains newsagent, co-op, chemist, tea rooms, up-market restaurant, fish & chip shop, Chinese & Indian restaurants & post office. A couple of quirky shops.
Rooms at hotel were a bit tired but we didn’t pay mega bucks for our stay.
3 course buffet breakfast & dinner meals were of a high standard with plenty of choice, staff were very well trained.
The drinks on the 99p bar offer included pint of lager/beer, unbranded spirits, soft drinks & mixers and wine by the glass.
Entertainment on Friday included a Quiz, bingo & disco, and a comedian on Saturday .
Hotel gets busy when coach tours arrive/depart hotel.
Hotel rooms are a fair distance from reception, bar & dining room.

I have stayed at this hotel several times and, in general, think it is excellent. The reception staff are friendly and helpful, the housekeeping staff are great, all the rooms I have stayed in have been clean and reasonably well presented. The breakfast buffet is as good as most, BUT the evening buffet varies between dire and not very good.
The main problem seems to be:- the hotel survives, mainly, on coach trip customers. They tend to get their evening meal at 6-6.30 p.m. so the buffet food is all laid out at, say, 5.30. If you are someone who prefers to eat at around 8p.m. the food has been sitting there for about two and a half hours. The cold starters are looking, and tasting, rather tired by then. The hot food is not covered and kept at a high temperature so everything is dried out and not very pleasant. Things are not helped by the staff who are not really very interested or visible.
It is a shame because these things could be sorted out with not a lot of effort, but it is the same every time. Why do I keep going back? It is fantastic value for money, I often pay £25 DBB with a free bottle of wine, the Hotel is dog friendly, the location is amazing and the spa is very good.

Room Tip: All rooms are good. The Lexx Executive are very spacious

The reception staff were friendly, and efficient, unfortunately they could not offer any information regarding things to see or do in the area. The room we were originally booked into was not an option (I am unable to climb stairs or walk long distance.) and the receptionist took the initiative and changed us to a more accessable room ( our thanks to the young lady for her concern)

The decor is tired but clean ( several instances of wall paper no longer adhering to the wall.)

The assistance in the dining room as regards to what was available and where we could sit was strange, the young man who tried to help us had little knowledge of what was available.

The breakfast was reasonable with plenty to eat from the buffet although not very warm.

The hotel was well attended and the coach parties enjoyed themselves throughout their stay.

Having found our way round the area it would certainly attract us back in the warmer weather.

I live a mile from this hotel and when I re-married (in 2010) we decided to have a civil ceremony at Bosworth Hall Hotel. (adte at the end of this review is not accurate - sorry).

It was amazing. The commitment of the staff from initial contact to the actual wedding was wonderful. We had regular contact with the wedding organiser and nothing was too much trouble for her.

The wedding package included lots of extras such as a disco, red carpet from the car park, bedroom suite for us and special discounted bedroom prices for guests, evening venue 'free', flowers for the tables and wedding ceremony room (brilliant service from a local florist), table plan, place cards, cake stand AND a complimentary cutting knife,... So many extras. We chose to marry on a Friday and there was a reduction of 10% on the costs noted in the brochure, (later increased to 20)% and although we had booked prior to this amendment, we were offered the 20% reduction.

We chose to offer our guests a choice of menu and the hotel staff took great pains to ensure that each guest had what they ordered. We also needed options for vegetarians and a coeliac but this was no problem for the chef. The food looked and tasted great.

The evening food was also great value. We were advised to order food for less than the number of guests which was really good as there was ample food. The choice of foods was greatly appreciated by all the evening guests.

Thank you Bosworth Hall Hotel for making our special day even more memorable.
