Set in very nice surroundings, close to Stratford, we felt very comfortable here. The staff were very friendly. If anything could be improved it would be the food, not unpleasant but not of a very high standard.

Someone once told me that the village of Charlecote was ' A one horse town without the horse'. He was wrong, for at Charlecote there is a church, a garden centre, a large National Park and manor, and of course the Charlecote Pheasant Hotel.
If you want a hotel with lots of entertainment and somewhere interesting to walk in the afternoon or evenings, then go somewhere else. You wont find that here, but you will find a pleasant ,clean and friendly hotel with good food and comfortable rooms. For touring this place is ideal
When you leave the hotel, assuming you go by car, head in the direction of Stratford on Avon, which is about six miles away, and after visiting here, you can carry on through The Vale of Evesham, and visit the town of the same name.
Carry on to Broadway and the interesting places you will encounter are countless.
Moreton in Marsh, Stow on the Wold Bourton on the Water, I could go on and on.
All of these places are accessable and within a reasonable short distance from your base a the hotel.
You can decide to go to Warwick, Kenilworth, Leamington and even visit the lovely City if Coventry, and again, you will only be a short distance from your hotel.
Thats the tourning part done with, and once again the possibilities are endless.
Returning to the hotel, we found it select very quiet and witha friendly staff who
could not do enough for us. Meals are served in a cosy restauant adjoining the bar and again, we found them to be quite pleasent.
Inform the reception of what time you want to dine when you check in and a table will be reserved for you. The menu changed every day and my only beef, if you'll excuse the pun, was that there were surcharges on some of the courses, including even the desserts.
Drinks were reasonably priced and there was a good selection behind the bar. Coffee after your meal was served in the bar lounge and as well as being included also came with chocolates.
The room that we were in, number 49, was located in the annex, as were most of the others. The window view from this roow was nothing special, but it was very very quiet. The usual tea coffee facilities, T.V. etc. were not exceptional, but adequate. There was lots of wardrobe and drawer space as well as three, yes three, comforatble easy chairs. Bathroom was a bit on the small side, I believe nowadays we call it' 'bijou'.
On the whole we had a pleasant time at this hotel and were hard pushed to find any faults.Oh yes, if you want to leave your car in the hotel and travel by bus, there is a bus stop right outside the hotel.

Very pleasant hotel with good sized, comfortable rooms. Food choice was more than adequate as was the standard. The staff were friendly and very efficient. A good sign as to whether the hotel is any good is to ask whether you would go back. The answer to this question would be a definite yes.

We stayed at the Charlecote earlier in the year for my birthday weekend away. We had a feature room in a separate quiet building across the courtyard from the main hotel. The room was lovely and clean and well equipped. Very peaceful and we very much enjoyed our 2 night stay. The cab fare was £10 each way into town and back. We will definitely stay again, the only criticism would be the over priced breakfast - way to steep at £13 a head for a buffet breakfast.

After reading the many negative reviews, we were pleased to find pleasant and helpful staff, quick and efficient service in the dining room and a warm, clean, well set up and comfortable bedroom. Very good value for money too.

Went for weekend away for a birthday treat, the village is lovley as you drive down to the hotel, the hotel look quiet old and quaint at the front but the back blocks are new buildings which are across the car park and we were in the back block ,room was modern and clean with a table to sit at and there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room , breakfast was typical keep warm buffet food but nothing special the staff seemed a little inexperienced and young and a bit disorganised the receptionist did swipe my card on arrival which i found annoying as i had already paid in full before the visit i paid £110 for 2 nights b&b, It's approx 4 miles drive to stratford and we drove and ate there at night the resturant seemed disorganised at breakfast so didnt want to chance it at night, overall the place was ok and the breakfast was ok although we were poorly all day after eating it, rooms were average dont think i would go there again i have been to much better hotels but £55 a night for 2 not bad but you get what you pay for
