It gives me great pleasure to review the Charlecote Pheasant Coast & Country Hotel because we had planned to visit it with friends this time last year and had read some rather off-putting views on this site, so visited another (enjoyable) Coast & Country hotel instead. This year we decided to go with our instincts and wow, are we glad we did! Everything was wonderful; the food was delicious, the staff friendly, polite and helpful, the restaurant and bar area was warm, welcoming, tastefully furnished and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The main building is a lovely old structure with beamed ceilings but having a tastefully modernised and attractive reception. Accommodation is in various buildings outside but only a few steps from the main area. We upgraded to superior rooms and can highly recommend Nos. 10 & 11. Everything was clean and comfortable and I urge anyone considering a visit to pick up the phone and book without further hesitation! I can't wait to return for another lovely holiday at the best Shearings hotel I've ever stayed in. The location is in a beautiful part of England, and trips to Stratford-upon-Avon and Bourton-on-the-Water are highly recommended. Thank you to all at the Charlecote Pheasant, which is quite obviously very well managed, as the staff all seem to be happy in their jobs and very hard-working and enthusiastic.

Room Tip: Rooms 10 and 11 are lovely.

We visited the Charlecote Pheasant Hotel just over a week ago for a few days for a pre-Christmas break and it was brilliant. The hotel is in a quiet, rural area and is only a short drive from Stratford-upon-Avon and all the associated attractions. If that weren't enough, the room we were in was excellent, the view was stunning (even included deer on one afternoon) and the staff at the hotel were extremely helpful. The food in the restaurant was of a high standard and included a different a la carte menu every evening, meaning we were spoilt for choice.

I would definitely recommend and will certainly be going back!

We stayed here for 3 nights (with Coast & Country) a few weeks ago and were very impressed with the rooms, food and staff. The room was bigger than we expected - we have stayed in more expensive places with much smaller rooms. The bathroom was quite spacious too and all was spotlessly clean. The superviser even came round to check that we were satisfied. The staff were very polite and helpful and the food was generally good, although the fish from the fish and chips was rather disappointing (a bit small and no proper batter). We found the set menu was good, although we did upgrade on one evening of our stay, which we thought was a good option to offer. A good choice at breakfast too. This hotel is in a great location for many places to visit and as we are members of the National Trust, we found the close proximity of Charlecote House very useful! For value for money this hotel would take some beating, and we will now try some other Coast & Country hotels as well as returning to the Charlecote Pheasant.

Just returned from this hotel .I found the room and restaurant one of the best I have been in .the food was very nice and piping hot ,staff were also very good .Fantastic value for money. The only complaint was that entertainment was advertised on some nights but there was not any, although this did not bother us it should not be advertised ,the bar and lounge that was quite nice made up for it.

We stayed at the Charlecote Pheasant Hotel a few weeks ago and had a lovely time. We were greeted with a smile and checked in 2 hours early we went to our room in the farmhouse which was clean and decorated (at a guess) recently.
We had a meal in the bar which was very nice (my husband’s steak was cooked to perfection!) and the staff were most attentive. We had organised to go to the RSC in Stratford which is nearby but we later learnt the theatre had cancelled the shows due to "technical difficulties". At a loss of what to do we went to the front desk to ask for instructions on how to use the hotels Wi-Fi, the receptionist Emily gave us a code and suggested another theatre in Leamington Spa she printed us the shows that were on that evening, we picked one then she booked the tickets over the phone and arranged our taxis! We had a wonderful night at the theatre even though this was not the theatre we planned. We slept well in the warm and cosy room - our night at the hotel was wonderful and we will be returning to the Charlecote Pheasant Hotel in March for a stay we booked with Coast and Country. The staff are a huge credit to the hotel and we look forward to seeing them all again.

Room Tip: Room 5 is beautiful!

What a disappointing stay at this hotel. On check in 2 of the party had been placed into a disabled room, we asked to be moved and were placed into a twin room that we had originally requested. The bathroom was dirty with grime around the bath and dust elsewhere in the bathroom. A plastic bag was left in between the broken shower screen and a replacement curtain. The window handle was broken and the frame was dirty. There was a burn from a cigarette on the enamel of the bath. We stayed half board, the food was at times inedible. Frozen fish HONESTLY!!! Cold poached eggs, condiments already served on the plate with the food, I could go on and on! The waiter this morning was beyond grumpy, in fact he was positively rude, learning some common courtesy would not go amiss! WOULD NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL AGAIN

Room Tip: The room we stayed in was not in main part of hotel it was a more modern building next to it. It had...

Thank you for your review of your recent stay at the Charlcote Pheasant after investigation, I would like to add the following points. We allocate all rooms on what has been booked ie if you book a twin you get a twin thisa was the case and after complaining tio recception they were moved to another twin, which when the receptioniest took them over they were very happy there is no cigarette burn on the bath, but a small chip in the enamel. I have noted the points you have made regarding your meals, however if you read the many other reviews you will infact see that we have been praised for not only food and service but for Staff.

After booking this Hotel for a 4 night stay because of the positive reviews on here, we were dissapointed. On arrival to our allocated room we discovered our bathroom hadn't been cleaned especially the toilet, surely this is something which is paramount for hygiene reasons. Our room obviously had dipped out on the cleaning stakes because there was a reciept on the floor, along with clothes tags etc. We complained to the Receptionist and she said she was unable to arrange for our room to be cleaned as there was no-one from Housekeeping available but she would send a Porter to check or we could change rooms but by this time we had unpacked. We also complained about the room temperature as it was cold, she advised they have the heating on a timer and it was due to come on shortly (5pm). She issued us with a heater which did help...... but little did we know the so-called room radiator would keep us awake some of the night with constant clicking and bubbling. Warning... the walls are paper thin you can hear your next door neighbours flushing the toilet, coughing, talking etc.
Housekeeping could be improved i.e. looking above eye level as a few cobwebs blowing in the wind and on top of the bedside lamps.
Breakfast - good selection and quick to be served - no complaints!
Evening meals - limited choice on selection unless you are willing to upgrade, but after paying the amount we did not see why we should have to pay more to upgrade on the food. I would say there needs to be a bit more open minded when it comes to the set-course menu as not every evening was there something to equate to a 3 course meal as per the package paid for.
On the first night I had to ask 3 times for a clean fork, at breakfast the next day the sugar bowl on our table had tea/coffee stains on the outside, the cups were stained.
On a positive note - it is set in a pleasant location, the Hungarian guy (sorry don't know what his name is) was brilliant he was in the Restaurant he was happy to talk and put things right. Stratford-upon-Avon short distance away along with Warwick and Leamington Spa.

Thank you for your revierw of your stay at the Charlecote Pheasant, I have spoken with the various Heads of Department and I apologise if you feel that your room/bathroom was not cleaned properly. Once this was reported the Housekeeper did go an re- clean your room the Heating is on timers, and when you reported the noise from your radiator our maintenance man did fix this. I have spoken with the Restaunt Manager regarding your comments of dirty cutlery. We do offer a very good choice on our table D Hote menu, and you are under no obligation to upgrade to the
Al la carte menu, it is an added extra should you wish to enhance your dining experience and at a very competitive price with great savings if you are on a Half board package.
