On arrival , weather below freezing, no room heating, Electric radiator didn't work.Qucikly fixed by maintenance man. Heating and lighting controlled by inserting door key card, so when room is empty - no heating. Even when occupied, a motion sensor switched off heating after 23 minutes. Hence when sleeping, unless you are a restless sleeper you had to wave your ams around every half hour to keep the heating on. Shower temperature controller was stuck at less than luke warm . so no hot shower.
Breakfast plates and servery food cold at 8:30am. Room is shabby.Take my tip - go to the Premier lodge, warm, clean, friendly and good value for money.

My husband and myself have both stayed at the Little Haven for a wedding. Staff made the whole process run without a hitch for my friend's perfect day. The room was reasonably priced and clean, nothing grand but we only booked standard. The suites are gorgeous. We were next to the function room, and for a well packed venue it didn't disturb our night. The breakfast was amazing and has a 5 star rating. I think the hotel staff were great and really looked after the whole wedding party. I would consider here for other functions myslef. A star service.

Despite booking in advannce they could not find our booking, and offered us a smoking room next to the function room that was damp, smokey and noisy. We had to wait til 1.30 am til a room was made available - we had to stay in reception with our baby, whilst their was a drunken brawl going on. Staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. They wouldn't even get us a drink while we waited. We paid 80.00 for this disgraceful service and when we asked if we could have a discount as we didn't have a room for full amount of time we were told by the general manager that he couldn't make that management decision. We were advised to put it in writing, We did, and we emailed but we were just ignored. This hotel has potential but due to incredibly bad management it totally fails in all arreas. Don't waste your money here.

Third time we stayed at this hotel, 2004, 2006 and 2008. We were a little worried this year because of the reviews. Not very good but we booked any way because of the fantasic location and views of the North Sea. We were booked in with no problems, after a 24 hour journey we were tired. Staff was friendly and courteous. The breakfast was good and hot and staff
was quick to respond with any concerns.
Rooms were neat and cleaned daily. A nice quiet hotel, nice to see no smoking policy in place.
We walked every day to town and a short train ride into Newcastle and the Metro Center.
Loved the walks along the beach. We will be back again!

I stayed here with my friend on a Saturday night in August. The booking process was not great but the check in experience was worse. Being an ex-hotel reception manager, i probably expect more than most but this was beyond belief. The receptionist seemed bored by my presence and also told me straight that checkin was 2.30pm. Fair enough but there are ways to say things. The room was ok for the money paid. We then were stupid enough to have lunch in the restaurant. The staff in there were even worse. I was running around asking people how to order, where to get cutlery, napkins. The lazy waiter could clearly see we had no cutlery but just disappeared and never came back. I had to go looking for cutlery and sauces etc. During the night the room was very noisy with a drunken wedding party outside the window and guests upstairs going to the toilet every hour with very heavy feet. All in all, i would certainly never stay there again. A shame really as in a lovely spot but the owners have just let it go to ruin by having uninspired, uninterested staff.

Well our first choice of hotel was flooded and they kindly booked us into the Little Haven hotel. Upon reading some of the views I was rather worried about how our stay here would be. After staying here I thought it was about time this hotel had some good reveiws as we found it a pleasant hotel. The location is great, just a short walk along the beach to reach the main peir and town. Our room was clean and tidy as was the rest of the hotel. The staff were extremely helpful, especially in sorting our transfer and the money. Yes, its not the Ritz but for a nice clean hotel its great. Breakfast was yummy (chocolate waffels every day for me!). The dinner menu was basic and I have to say we did not eat here for this reason, however a short walk and there are a couple of lovely restraunts along the beach and a couple in town along with 21 indian restraunts along the main road (yes - we did count as there were so many!). I would recommened this hotel for a short stay, business people.
