“Ideal for the school holidays!!”

Recently visited the Museum with a friend who doesnt live local. We were both very impressed with the range of things to see from the past. The Catherine Cookson Area is def worth alook. They've a gift shop in the entrance with a good selection of goodies and an old fashioned style cafe where we enjoyed a nice cuppa and slice of cake. Also toilets available and an open lift for prams and wheelchairs. Worth alook as its free admission

I think the locals should visit more, when I went there was plenty to see and staff who were interested enough to tell you about the exhibits

We always stop here for a while and take a coffee over the road but cannot help thinking it is under used for a great building.

“Nice building”

Intersting selection of pictures. Most of which appear not to be shown along with many of the other resources available. Still good though. Ever thought of hiring it out to the community for events?

“Good amenity”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

It's so good to still see that Councils continue to spend money on places like this. It might not be the most fashionable of places to visit but the Town would be poorer without it.
