“Brilliant value for money, location, menu etc”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2013

Tried this restaurant and what a refreshing change to find somewhere that had good choice of starters and mains at a brilliant price

Service was excellent with staff courteous and helpful

Vegetables cooked to perfection too which is rare sometimes

Would certainly recommend to anyone to try this place

“An excellent gastro pub lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2013

The moment we sat down, along came the carafe of iced water and two glasses. Good start. Although the waiting staff were stretched and we were late for the lunch service, we were able to order our drinks and meal relatively quickly. I chose sea bass with prawns and a cream and dill sauce with seasonal veg, and Chris, starved of carbs by my diet (6lb off so far) tucked into a steak and kidney suet pud, lucky man. He said his meat was not quite soft enough but he loved the flavour....I didn't taste it, as I was beguiled by the succelence of my sea bass.
We finished off with excellent, truly excellent, filter coffee.
Our glass of wine each wasn't cheap, but was very good, and worked with our mains, and I had a voddy and diet coke to begin with. So we thought £50 without service wasn't over priced, considering the nice decor, comfortable seats, and general levels of professionalism. There was a very nice hand at work in the saucing and seasoning in the kitchen. We will go back again. It was very busy, so next time we'll book. Oh, and there's an afternoon tea menu and bar menu too.

“Not bad.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013

The staff were friendly. The garden pleasant to sit in the sun. The food was ok, not gastropub
as I thought, but striving to be one. My meal was tasty, lots of whitebait thanks, and venison Wellington.real ales, Black Sheep and London Pride served. I certainly would go back.

Uninteresting and over priced. Very average food. Attempts to be smart in decor but just looks like there trying to hard and a bit cheap.

“Fantastic!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013 via mobile

As with the Tadworth Grumpy Mole fabulous service and food - perfect for a special treat but do ask for a table in the main restaurant to avoid the table near main entrance and parking can be tricky - but definitely recommend !!
