Just what we needed after a cold day out. Cosy pub area ( and dining area too if required), friendly staff, yummy beef and excellent yorkshire pudding! Make sure you leave room for the desserts as they were incredible!! Will be back if we're in the area.

Thank you for taking the time to review our pub. The beef is awesome even if we say so ourselves! Hopefully see you again soon. Iain

My family held our Aunt's wake at the Running Horses in 2013. My sister, from Scotland and I returned there on Sunday 27th December after a trip down memory lane visiting favourite places in the area.

What we found was a beautifully refurbished dining room, a warm welcome and a varied, appealing looking menu. We were spoilt for choice. Our final choice didn't disappoint and we had a well presented meal served by friendly courteous staff. Let's hope it's not too long before we can stroll down memory lane again.

This is a nice village pub that has decent rooms upstairs. As it is an old coaching inn, the layout of the rooms is a bit haphazard with the bathroom up two steps etc. Also the lighting is very subdued, but overall the effect was good.
Pleasant time in the bar. Tasty breakfast cooked to order.
