After celebrating a footy win by Chelsea we went to the Darj for a late night curry. Must admit from memory the quality of food and service has slipped a bit. I was surprised to see the staff taking the mikey out bof a drunk customer by serving the wrong dishes and laughing it off. Anyway a bit average nowhere near the MAHAAN

Vistied the Darjeeling for the first time with friends in January 2012. Excellent food, extensive menu and good service. Despite getting busy on the Friday night the atmosphere was great and not too noisy. Try it you will not be disappointed.

Small portions of food, served with more onions & tomatoes than chicken. Very small portion of rice and sag chana. Poor service despite restaurant being less than half full. Serve an odd beer called Moongoose, which lacks flavour. Have had better food and service here, feels like the place has "gone downhill". Won't hurry back.

Ordered for Lamb biriyani, it was lacking flavour, tastes bad and hardly found any lamb pieces!

Worst of all, they charge £2.00 for paying by credit/debit card, when the total is less than £15.00.

Used to come here a few times in the past and thought the food was distinctly average, usual traditional Indian affair.

However, I had a take-away with my family from here in October on the way back from work and it was simply the best Indian-takeaway i've ever had, it was utterly sublime.

The food was so fresh you could tell it was made up especially for us in the kitchen just before we arrived to pick it up, the rice was gorgeous and the subtle flavourings of the Madras made it a truly remarkable experience.

Have yet to go for a meal there since the apparent food improvement, but am looking to go soon as if it's now anything like the take-away meals, it'll be utterly sublime.

The only slight down-side is the price, you pay the same prices for the food as you would if you ate in the restaurant, which is rare for a take-away menu. Nevertheless, with food as good as this it's worth every penny.
