I ate at the Royal Oak on Saturday night for the first time. We had just had a long journey and stopped about 8:30pm hoping to get a table (me and my parents). We were in luck. The staff were really friendly and the service was great. Most importantly the food was delicious. It is all homemade and you can tell. The choice is really great also – really good selection of unusual vegetarian options on top of all the other things. They also have great daily specials. Portion size was perfect and the food came really quick considering it is all made fresh to order and they were quite busy. I would highly recommend this pub and I will definitely be going back – best pub in Farnham!

What a super meal. Crispy, light suet crust, tender, moist, meaty filling. Piping hot, with a choice of accompaniments. One of our group tried the mushroom with goats cheese filling. That too was a generous portion, with beautifully presented salad and rosemary potato cubes.

After searching for a new place to eat with the family I searched trip advisor. The Royal Oak had great reviews so we went there today. We were 6 adults and a 5 year old. The food was great and the staff were really friendly and made us feel very welcoming. We have found from past experience that most places which cater for children do not always provide colouring in equipment for the children without having to ask several times. At the Royal Oak they brought over a picture and a very good selection of colouring in pencils along with a pencil sharpener as soon as we were seated. I would definitely visit there again and recommend them to our friends.

After seeing some reviews on Tripadvisor as to how good this little pub is we decided to stop in for lunch on our way back up north. Being big fans of proper country pub food it was great to come in! It wasn't cramped, overly rammed with tables and chairs and superbly managed by the male and female staff who were working. They were polite, attentive and very welcoming, exactly what we were looking for! Food was reasonably priced and nothing short of excellent! Our simple starters were lovely and well cooked and flavored, including the homemade blue cheese and Stilton soup! My fish pie for main course was great, compliments to the chef, I didn't add any additional seasoning, which is a rarity for me! We both had cheesecake for the dessert, I agree with a previous comment, must try!!! Would love to visit again on our next trip down in that direction. Thank you very much :-)

We found the Royal Oak by accident when my car broke down outside and have been going back there for around 18 months now. Their menu is wonderfully eclectic - you can choose from a traditional Sunday roast (but book well in advance), Thai fishcakes, chilli con carne, the list goes on. The menu has plenty of choice and they are happy to cater for children and people with gluten intolerance etc. We have taken friends in there and a big group after a run and nobody has been disappointed.
They have lots of special evenings such as steak nights and quiz nights.
There is always a selection of Sunday papers to read while eating your roast dinner, plus a roaring fire in the winter and the usual Farnham pooch under a table or two.
Big garden to the rear, but unfortunately our visits have not yet coincided with warm and sunny weather!
The staff are friendly and welcoming.
Occasionally it can be difficult to park when it is very busy such as a Sunday, but it is pretty easy to park on a local street.
If you in or around Farnham I urge you to visit for your lunch! (Short drive from Farnham town centre, less than 5 minutes).
