“Fantastic home from Home”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

Thank you to the staff at Tilford Woods for making us feel so welcome. This was our second time staying here, and arriving early in the morning from a long haul flight, all we wanted was to put our bags down and have a long rest.
The staff helped us to check in early and made sure that the cabin was lovely and warm, it was - 2 outside!
We spent a great four days here, walking in the woods, and visiting friends. If you are looking for a place to stay where you can get to London easily and still be right out in the countryside, then you can do no better than this.

We have been staying at tilford woods since October due to flood in our own home. Our insurance company actually recommended tilford woods to us... What a god send ! The thought of having to go in to a grotty temporary flat (our other option) for months doesn't bare thinking about.
We absolutely love it here...really can't fault anything. The lodges are fab. We are staying in a traditional lodge and whilst it doesn't have a hot tub or jacuzzi, it is extremely well equipped, furnished tastefully, clean and homely.
This was also one of the only options that allowed us to bring our 2 dogs... They are having a ball as we are located right next to a woodland area so have walks on tap !

The staff here have been exceptional. Nixie, the lodge manager has been so helpful and has gone above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests. Whatever we ask, we get. She is a fantastic ambassador for both tilford woods and hoe seasons.
The little touches make it more personal, personalised Christmas cards and chocolates on christmas eve, prosecco on new years eve...

We have already had friends come and stay, so would happily recommend this place to anyone. There really is something for everyone here. The pub nearby, the duke of Cambridge is excellent. Fab Sunday lunch but book ahead or you won't get a table.

This place is absolutely perfect for a romantic break. We stayed in a Corbett traditional lodge, which was extremely spacious for a new years break as our first as a married couple. With underfloor heating, a dishwasher, beautiful four-poster bed, sauna, jacuzzi bath. tv-dvd, and a completely private and secluded hot tub, we couldn't have asked for more. The park itself is a bit bigger than it looked when we booked through hoseasons, but we didnt really hear or see too many people in our four nights there, which is what we wanted. Reception has a little handy shop selling drinks and limited snacks, as well as helpful bits like toilet paper, cooking oil, salt and pepper etc if you forget any essentials. We always holiday abroad and stay in 5* accomodation, but for a break in this country I cannot rate this place highly enough, we will definitely be going back.

We spent four nights in a Cobbett Contemporary lodge for Christmas. The lodge was ready early for us and we arrived about lunchtime. The lodge was very clean with all the usual facilities available. All staff we encountered were polite and helpful.
The kitchen is well equipped so self catering is easy in fact my husband did a great job of Christmas lunch!!
Tilford Woods is well placed with some great walks right next to the site. The hot tub is welcome after a long walk in the woods!
We also went into Farnham to the farmers market where we bought some great local produce. We also visited the sculpture park which is about five minutes drive down the road. A great place to spend a few hours.
We ate at the Duke of Cambridge on Christmas Eve which is adjacent to the site and had a fantastic meal.
We love staying at Tilford Woods and find it to be a most relaxing break. We have already booked twice for 2013 so you cant get more of a recommendation than that!

My hubby and I booked Tilford Woods for our Honeymoon at the end of October and we had a really lovely stay.
We booked the Contemporary Corbett Lodge & we wasn't disappointed!

Stunning lodge with one double in an ultra modern style. Ensuite sauna and spa bath with overhead shower. Outdoor hot tub. Perfect for romantic breaks.
Luxury lodges all with their own verandah with double glazing and underfloor heating for year round comfort.
Outdoor hot tub (LOVELY AND WARM, EVEN IF IT WAS 4 DEGREES OUTSIDE!)
TV/DVD
Phone in specific lodges (payable on departure) (NO MOBILE COVERAGE AT ALL THOUGH).
Wi–Fi (NOT GREAT COVERAGE TBH).
Kitchen including microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer & WASHING MACHINE.
Bath and/or shower (WE HAD BOTH, NO SHOWER GUARD/CURTAIN THOUGH).
Bed linen, duvets and towels
Beds made up for your arrival
Verandah with garden furniture
Electricity included

There were lots of lovely little extras included like Fairy washing up liquid and a couple of dishwasher tablets & I have to say the dishwasher was a god send - no washing up all weekend!!

We will definatley be visiting again in the future without a doubt!!

We always go for top of the range accomodation in the winter as we could be spending alot of time in side, the Luxury lodges have their own verandah with double glazing and underfloor heating. Park is next door to a Golf coarse, park manager and staff very helpful.

Room Tip: make sure you book well in advance to get the best lodges by the lake with sauna and whirlpool jet b...

After reading previous reviews, I decided to book Tilford Woods for our family of four. We were not dissapointed! We stayed in lodge number 8 which was comfy and spacious. We went to the Devils Punchbowl and to the cinema in Guildford. We enjoyed some lovely walks across the golf course and followed the trails ( some long walks) Overall Tilford Woods is a relaxing holiday with not alot to do on the doorstep but some lovely scenery and peaceful surroundings. We hope to return again soon.
Reception has milk, bread, eggs etc on sale and loan's out DVD'S and games. The spectrum pool in Guildford is brilliant, lots of slides and fun for the kids!
