“Great cosy pub”
Reviewed March 2, 2013 via mobile

We stopped off in the way back to London from Bournmouth. We only had soup and sandwiches but they were REALLY GOOD soup and sandwiches.

The pub is dark, cosy and pretty ancient!

They could maybe do with some more staff, but the ones they do have we're very friendly.

“Great find”
Reviewed February 27, 2013 via mobile

Some times only an evening in front of a fire with a pint will do. It was such an evening I entered the Nelsons Arms and I will be back soon. My colleague and I stayed for food and this was very good as well. Sausage and mash and the risotto are highly recommended. The menu was large enough for choice but not so large as to delay a decision. Fish and chips did also look good. Staff were friendly and the food didn't take to long. All in all a good pub.

“Still a great pub”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Was in Farnham with a friend with a few hours to kill on a freezing day. Haven't drunk in Farnham for around 20 years so a fair few changes, but the Nelson was as good as ever. The fire made the visit, especially as we got in just before the crowds. Clearly the landlord is on top of things which usually makes for a decent pub.

“New Landlord Makes All The Differnce”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

I have been a regular at The Nelson on and off for a long time now, over the years its been quite hit and miss, BUT I have to say that the new landlord Tom has really turned it round to being a fantastic pub. Its like a different place, It has a great atmosphere now and it works well for just a drink or a lovely meal, It's a beautiful old pub with open fires and beams. We have eaten here twice recently and both times the food has been great. In fact I have had my best ever pudding here last week, which prompted me to write this - Salted Caramel Torte, it was amazing ! You have to try it to believe how good it is. They serve good quality home cooked food, the pub has a great menu and a good selection of wines & beers with friendly staff to boot. I would highly recommend this pub !

“Good atmosphere”
Reviewed February 16, 2013 via mobile

The feeling in this pub is like a very cosy front room with the open fire and the welcoming chairs. Great place for a cosy relax, only thing I would say against the places the choice of beer is limited. So if it is real ale you want you may not stay here long
