“Looks majestic from the outside but.....”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

Worth seeing for the chapel, the setting on the Thames, and the gardens. I did not care for the rest of the palace. The rooms are very dark because all the heavy drapes are drawn, there is no furniture to speak of, and they do this weird "Secrets of the Royal Bed Chamber" thing that I thought was creepy.

From the outside, Hampton looks like a great castle, but the rooms are, for the most part, disappointing. Skip this and go to Windsor, which is totally magnificent.

“A wonderful slice of history that appeals to all ages!”
Reviewed April 23, 2013 via mobile

Cardinal Wolsey certainly knew what he was doing when he commissioned the building of this stunning palace.
You can almost feel the history within the walls of this truly magnificent building and the gardens are simply stunning.
A fascinating day out for all ages with helpful and informative staff at every turn.
A must for tourists and UK residents alike!

“A short walk away”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

Those that dont want to walk too far, just over the road/bridge and to the left (opp the station) you will see Bridge Road behind the main road. Full of quirky shops and pavement cafes, much frequented by the locals so not tourist pricey. Plenty of places to sit down and an Antique Centre at the end with lots of bargains. Clothes, Jewellery, China, collectables etc. The souvenir hunters will enjoy. New gift shops also.

“The Palace is Amazing”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

The outside architecture is amazing in itself. This was the home of Henry VIII. Two other add on’s to the Palace belonged to a couple of his wives. As far as all his wives they were either divorced, dead or beheaded. The tour shows you apartments, kitchens where they cooked and rooms where they ate and entertained. Definitely interesting. Gorgeous gardens also.

“One of the Best”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

Easy to get to by tube and train from central London - 1 hour max. A beautiful 16th c. building which houses a vast number of rooms furnished from different periods in its history. All the guides were helpful and well informed. The whole organisation of the palace is superb. Actors in period costume strolled around chatting to each other about daily life during Henry 8th reign. Not 'cheesey' Hollywood - but English restraint. Everything worked as a good tourist attraction should.
Worth every penny.
