“Unpredictable”

Seems to open when they feel like it, not necessarily including friday nights or other times you would expect. Not very good food priced as if it were bib gourmand- felt robbed. Drinks also rip off and manager objectionable.

“Fantastic food, great venue - ignore the haters!”
Reviewed May 15, 2012

This is one of the best places to eat in South London - not just Croydon! Fabulous freshly prepared dishes available every evening and an interesting wine list to accompany the food. All served up by friendly helpful staff in a great atmosphere - what more can you ask for?

They're not open during the day on Saturday or Sunday, as I understand it, because there just isn't the business, but the place really hums for the rest of the week, so booking's a must. The owners are South African and have some really interesting dishes on the menu - when we went, the Kudu (a sort of antelope) steak was a revelation! Much more tender and tasty than a fillet steak and half the price! The burgers are fantastic too - my husband's still raving about the one he had at the weekend.

Children ARE welcome within licensing regulation hours - when we went there was a little boy doing some colouring early on, but obviously he and his parents left as the evening moved on and the time past 8.00pm.

This isn't a "boozer", it's about great pub food - way way above the usual standard that you get in Croydon (and, as I said, in much of South London). Well worth visiting!

“Okay but not as good as it was in the past”
Reviewed April 25, 2012 via mobile

The opening times of this plance seem a bit illogical. It doesn't seem to be open much at the weekend.

The food is okay but overpriced.

The manager is friendly and makes
an effort but is a bit too loud and over bearing.

Children are welcome and there is generally a good atmosphere.

We frequent the Glamorgan in Croydon regularly for it's amazinig food!
The portion sizes are generous and quite reasonably priced.
The menu changes regularly with a good variety of dishes, including game.
And you certainly know when you've had a burger!
Can be quiet in the bar, but i don't go there for the atmosphere!

“Amazing burgers - an great local asset for East Croydon.”
Reviewed April 3, 2012

Ordered the game burger with chips and it was the most delicious burger we've had for a long time. Although lunch time is not necessarily a good indication of atmostphere, the clientel were mixed and we will definitely be going back to try the evening menu. We felt welcomed and comfortable and were impressed with the information about the food.
