Hampton by Hilton London Croydon
Ranked #3 of 24 Hotels in Croydon
Reviewed August 22, 2012

Back from a week travel to Croydon due a family meeting. We stay at Hampton for 5 nights. The hotel is almost new and the most important clean. The rooms are small but for the British standards looks perfect. The negative is that you can hear the noise of the others rooms as the soundproofing is low. The brekfast has the basics British specialities like ham, scrable eggs, potatos, bins etc.
We had a room with sofa bed that can sleep a children without problem.
The staff is frendly but is missing a bell boy so if you have to carry many laggages be prepared.
The Hotel is 5 minutes walk from Croydon station and you can reach London Bridge or Victoria in 15-20 minutes. The travel card for one day cost about 8,5 pounds and you can travel to all the zones.
Overall is a safe choice as it is new Hotel clean and value for money (depends the deal that you can have).

Room Tip: Try the access rooms as they are a little bigger. If you have problem with the road noise ask room a...

I recently stayed here for a night because it is near East Croydon station which is a short journey from central London and Gatwick airport. The staff were really friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was modern, fresh and very, very clean. It comes with everything you need; tea & coffee, good tv,free wifi, hairdryer, iron and board, dispensers for shower gel, soap, shampoo and body lotion. The bathroom is well designed, the shower being very easy to use. It was very quiet with no disturbances whatsoever. The breakfast was nice and the ambience in the breakfast area was pleasant. The food was kept well stocked and tables were constantly cleaned. To top it all, I got a really fantastic price. Other budget hotels should learn from this place.

We recently stayed during our visit to London for the Olympics. It is a short walk from the train station and a short ride to the heart of London. The people at this holel treated us wonderful. The room was clean. The breakfast? Well, there was certainly something for everyone. If you left hungry that was your fault. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again for our next visit to London.

We stayed a single night. The room was clean, good quality, but the assistance from the hotel staff was excellent. We had some parking issues the day after checking out, and they were very helpful here as well. Over and above.

We always try to stay in Hamptons. When I found there was one near London I was thrilled. It was a very friendly hotel, and they tried to be very helpful. The hotel was very clean, the bed was GREAT, the shower was great, and they have a good breakfast. It was little more limited than the breakfast in the US, but definitely enough, and well attended. It had air conditioning. We are so used to air conditioning, we had to leave it on all day to get it to the desired temperature, but that worked out fine. You have to leave your key in a slot to keep some of the electricity working. So we left one key and took one. We did have trouble using our converters, but luckily there was one US outlet in the bathroom, so we charged things in there. There is also a restaurant connected to the bar that serves dinner. The train station was close, and it is two stops to Victoria Station. There are also stores within walking distance. They booked a cab for us all the way to Heathrow at a very reasonable price. It was a great stay!

We stayed here for three weeks from mid June due to having some refurbishment work done at home. Our first impressions of this hotel were good, especially as it had only been open a few months. The room was clean, well proportioned and included a full size ironing board, free wi-fi, and the complimentary toiletries and selection of teas and coffee were a nice touch and were refilled on a regular basis. The room was more than adequate, even for a long stay, and I was seriously impressed with the hairdryer!!! There was a good selection for breakfast including cooked, cereal, as well as a selection of youghurts, pastries and fresh fruit and fruit juices. We found that the breakfast area got very packed, but this was usually due to us arriving at the last minute. Having said that, there was always plenty of room available in the conference areas. We especially liked the concessionary parking available at the NCP car park opposite, this allows you to park for 24hours for £5, which in central Croydon, is superb !! - ask for a discount ticket at the reception desk. Central London can be reached in about 15 minutes via East Croydon Rail Station which is just a five minute walk from the hotel. Bar meals, although relatively limited in choice, were available until 10pm and were more than adequate for the late night arrivals. This brings me on to the staff. The staff were ALL superb. They could not have been more helpful and professional. We were aware that the hotel was experiencing staff shortages and were amazed at the dedication shown by Tom Bianca and Jade especially as they would regularly cover shortfalls in staffing, effectively working double shifts. Being a shift worker myself, I can fully appreciate how exhausting shift work can be, but to have to work double shifts....well, I take my hat off to them. If their efforts have not been rewarded, then they certainly should be - they are a credit to the company!!!!. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
