“Good food and nice atmosphere”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

Sometimes tapas bars can be too noisy and sometimes the food is reheated and not too tasty and not enough but I thought on our last visit here the food was very good and plenty of it. Service also very good

“For Spanish Tapas - did not hit the mark”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

We were given at no charge a basket of rustic bread with oil and balsamic vinegar - the way the Spanish have their bread. We had racions of Boquerones (anchovies in vinegar) and Jamon Serrano (dry-cured mountain ham) both of which were good, followed by Tortilla Espanola (Spanish potato omelette), Gambas al Ajillo (prawns with garlic) and Chorizo Frito (sliced spanish sausage cooked in red wine). Unfortunately the overall quality of the food came nowhere near authentic Spanish tapas. The cold tapas were very good but the hot food was almost certainly pre-cooked and microwaved. The prawns were transparent and probably frozen.

The atmosphere was comfortable, especially for groups (with quite a few long tables). The service was pleasant. If you were in a hurry or just wanted a snack, besides the tables, there is a very long bar with stools, so it is possible to have tapas whilst having a drink at the bar. There was also a good choice of wines by the glass - and also an extensive bottled wine list.

“Great food and atmosphere, based on many visits”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

This place is BUSY and deservedly so. However, the waiters will ALWAYS try and accommodate you and you don't wait long at the bar area to be seated. Been here many times over many years and have never had a bad experience here. A good range of very tasty tapas and always some specials. The service is prompt, informal and very friendly. This is well worth a visit and better than any chain tapas restaurants that you can go to.

“Poor Customer Service, bad decor but good food”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

I'll make sure to avoid this restaurant in the future. I love Spanish food and been to several Tapas in South of London. This restaurant is similar to going to a school or work canteen. There is no atmosphere and the place is not cosy at all as you would expect for the area it is located in. The service was particularly bad as once the food was served there was no one to come and ask us whether we wanted anything further or to check whether everything was fine.

When we asked for the bill we noticed an optional service charge of 10% that was added although the menu clearly stated that service charge will be added for table of 6 or more. Furthermore we were charged separately for dips that came together with some of the menu. We did not even ask for the dip. The only reason this restaurant often appears to be busy is because of its location and lack of alternative tapas in the area.

On the other hand the food was nice and the portions were good. It is shame that everything else was a let down.

“Friendly service, pleasant food”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

Nothing about this restaurant is going to set the world afire - but the service is good and friendly, the food pleasant and the decor inoffensive. The portion sizes can be astonishing.

It's pleasant to see that it's perfectly normal to sit at the bar on one's own and have a snack and a drink - somewhat more authentic than in alternative venues.
