We went to Alberts Table for a family party and had a wonderful evening.
We had the 5 course tasting menu which at £45 was very good value and which the restaurant was more than happy to splice with the vegetarian version to deal with inividual problems. The food was excellent and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. We ordered the wines separately. The wine list is not long but is interesting and the wines we tried had obviously been carefully chosen by the restaurant).
So all in all a very good evening and the restaurant is much much better than its location would suggest.
- On the tasting menu they only serve the main beef option medium rare (and very good it is) but they thoughtfully provide an alternative
- the english cheese board is fantastic
- There is very handy car park (empty in the evenings) about 50 yards North of the restaurant if you can persuade a member of your party not to drink
- Very charming to 91 year old aunties
